Yeah, of course. Look how Froome went on TdF. Pure disgrace, likesay.

froome wasn't part of sky's horrendous trainingcamp in january in tenerife I believe it was. also froome was seriously fading towards the end of the tour and the tour was froome's first gt of this year. I see your man kreuziger is also handling well his 2nd gt

This is Henao thread, I don't even know how you managed to get Kreuziger here. Childish.

Using Froome as an example of success wrt Henao is non-sensical if their training and racing programmes were completely different.

Well guys I think you don't understand. Ryo said team Sky training fails all season, which is obviously BS. So I gave the example of rider who obviously hasn't failed all season and that's Froome who enjoyed very succesful season and you'd find some others. And they prove that not "ALL of sky. their training fails for an entire season."

But what the hell Kreuziger has to do with Sky and thei training?

Did Uran train the same schedule as Henao? If so, he managed to place 2nd in the Giro. He also nearly won a stage at the Vuelta.

Granted that was a very hard (Giro) edition due to the weather but it is better comparison, no?

Kerrison said himself that they decided to gamble a bit this year by pretty much making everyone on the team follow the training regime that made Wiggins a Tour winner. The January training camp was said to be particularly hard. Obviously it's proven too much for most of the riders so presumably they'll adapt this approach next year.

What the hell made him think that would be a good idea? Does he know anything about cycling? The type of training that might work for one rider and make that rider a success doesn't always work for another. To get in very good form, some riders may need lots of racing, some lots of miles, some more rest, etc. Hopefully he's learned that for next season, and doesn't make everyone follow the same training regiment next year.

I think both Uran and Froome are much, much better comparison than Kreuziger, when talk is about team Sky ;)

Obviously, only having coached the last two Tour de France winners he still has a long way to go in order to reach the lofty status of Senior level Interwebz coach on Cyclingnews forums. ;)

Not realizing that each individual needs different training, particularly considering they all didn't have the same "preparation", is an incredibly stupid mistake and yes, there are probably many people on this forum who could've coached the most overtrained guys (EBH, Henao, Kiry) to better results.

Yes, you are definitely right, that's why Henao when given the leadership dominated the Vuelta just like Wiggins and Froome did the Tour, oh wait...

Henao out of Dauphine and Suisse so i guess that also means he's out of Tour. What's next for him ? Any rumours ? Is he clear for racing and scheduled for Vuelta ? Or he's going to be the next Tiernan Locke ?

I am happy he's going miss the Tour.

He'll be fresh as **** for Vuelta, and ready to smash it. Honestlly would be disappointing with something else than Top 3 there.

Coming fresh to Vuelta is everything. He'll challenge Purito. Then late classics.

He can still have a great season imo.

Let's make this thread a Sebastian Henao thread instead!

Could it start with the mystery of how he has changed his maternal surname from Marin to Gomez? His maternal grandfather is not who he had previously been thought to be?

Damn nuisance: I'm going to have to redo the Emerging Riders CQ game.
