Maybe they will finally be able to explain LeMond's fantastic TT finish in 89. He always gets a free pass on that performance. How come no one ever questions how he could still be the fastest TT in Tour history on old technology, at the end of a grueling tour?

That has been discussed over and over, let's not go there cause it's not even relative to the topic..

Hmmm...
Low post count? Check.
Anti-Lemond? Check.
Attempting to derail threads with hot-button issues? Check.

Now who could this Merckxfan fella be??

Because:

• Not one single rider, teammate, coach, sponsor, soigneur, masseur, mechanic, ex-girlfriend, bus driver, janitor, or doping authority has ever even suggested they thought he was doping, let alone accused him or produced evidence?

• The TT was downhill?

• The TT was very short?

• The TT was overwhelmingly done in a tailwind?

• Technology in flat TT has gone through next to zero impactful change since then?

Just sayin'.

Back to figuring out the "new" scandal, please.

Susan

You mean the new scandal that's just like the old scandal yet there's news about the old scandal but not the new scandal.

Confused? I am.

If a poster's very first post is anti-Lemond, you don't really have to respond.

Back to the topic, if the Hog's info is correct, and there is a formal investigation announced, wouldn't that seal Amrstrong's fate as far as participating in the TdF?

They pulled the article.

But I just heard this:

There will be an announcement on Monday that Armstrong is under official investigation and will face US Federal probe. He will be asked to return to the US for questioning.

Sports Illustrated will also print an online story spanning several pages into all of the Armstrong investigations over the years and join some of the dots on the information we now have from Landis. Apparently there will be some big revelations.

federal holiday in monday in america apparently.

On the OUCH/Bahati angle, they keep saying that Floyd ruined the team, but do not say how.

Sponsors don't want to be associated with that shatstorm.

A cursory glance at a US calendar demonstrates how absurd that claim is.

Only if they intend on keeping it out of as many papers and newsreels as is possible.

I can tell by your stance that you are a student of team postal media relations.

An announcement from a federal employee on Memorial day? That's the ultimate deep six(pack)ing of a story.

Isn't Lance a Merckx fan? I know that Lance is sensitive to technology advances seeing that he used a 21lb climbing bike in the '99 tour.

IF this is true and something more than just the career of Lance is trashed, such as the entire UCI is burned to the ground, as are many of the team management and riders that are doping, I'll crack open a good bottle of scotch I still have for special occassions and anyone is invited for a drink

@ Susan, allright more specifically: do you know something more about this rumour than we do? (shall we turn this into a game of 20 questions? :p)
