I'm watching, but behind.
Yesterday was a nice little stage. Niemiec after the KOM jersey. He's won a hatfull already in Italy.
Have the ITT recorded for tonight, so...............

Tomorrow, clashes with Frankfurt, so it will be a juggling act!

Team issue, not really a big fan of black socks.

Ha! I like to think I am a lot more friendly than I look...:)

A nice reversal of what is usually going on, my normal "job" is to mark Thurlow and Meeker and be the early lead out for our sprinter, not fun. I love the DPGP course, or anything with a lot of corners.

Luckily none of them (tattoos) have been damaged by off the bike excursions.

That was actually last years socks.(check pics on first page)

Anybody else with racing pics.....in my old age I am more of a participator than a spectator.

You need to lay off the weights NOTslowoldman, those arms are looking way too thick. Nice work on the legs however; you don't get quads like that sitting on the couch. :)

1973 was my first year riding for Brooklyn, and the first of my three Milano-Sanremo wins. Here I beat Francioni (2nd) and Gimondi (3rd)

Well I have a bike store that wants me to race for them ina team series that begins in three months time. It's another level of racing, except that they need to have people who race A and B grade (I think it is 50:50 split) and there are 8 members per team. Nothing is certain yet, but at least I will score some good wheels for each race day.

The average crit speed (AFAIK) is around the 41/42km/h mark, might be quicker actually, and whilst I'm strong enough, it looks like plenty of long training rides and hard road races in NSW so it will bring my level up.

I have lifted weights for about 6 months of my 45 years on this planet, and that was 25 years ago. Raised on a feed store/farm so I threw sacks of feed and bales of hay around when I was a kid. Later in life, I worked construction and threw around a 90 lb. Jackhammer and concrete. I have tried to lose my upper body for years, blessed/cursed? with good genetics I guess (my wife doesn't want me to slim down). My dad and brother both 6'3" and 230 lbs. I am the smallest guy in my family.:p

My workouts these days consist of riding and yoga.

Just out of pure curiosity, how long are the crit races in Australia usually?

We race for 1hr and then do an additional 3 laps. So there is no set distance.

Raced in NYC from 95-2000, stopped when my son was born and we moved to the north of Spain. I´ve been invited to join the local Orbea bike shop cyclocross team.....(not pro) next cyclo season. I´ve no idea what it´s like, but I´m looking forward to it.

And if so, are you brave enough to post a pic? Or will you carry on in anonymity?

I'll start.

I thought it had some processing done. The blurred background doesn't look like it usually does if the photographer is panning. And your hands shouldn't be blurred if your face is not. Both move across the plane at the same speed. Maybe I'm wrong. Either way, don't think this is a criticism, I think digital processing is modern art and this is a really nice photograph.

Oh I see, I thought he was insinuating the photo wasn't real somehow. I honestly don't know if Dan processes the photos (adds effects or not). He is a great photographer, and shoots a lot of races here in So Cal. He has some great photos on his site, quite a few have the similar effect, not sure how he achieves it.

Well you are a natural crit racer then. I like crits myself but I stay away for the most part these days because I am so sick of the crashes. I stick to hilly road races and MTB races because they are slightly safer. But there is nothing quite like the feeling of railing the corners at 30 mph in a strung-out crit field. Untill some guy crashes right in front of you, LOL. :D

I once saw a guy get dropped in a crit, get lapped, and when he was going around a corner (ok it is a sharp corner, but anybody with any decent bike handling skills will corner it no problems) and still managed to crash, and he was riding on his own.

Spain's cyclocross movement is quiet active.
Ive no idea about Asturias, but in south they usually start cyclocross around October/November until January when they switch to road races,

How do you properly upload pics?

In the message creation window there are a bunch of formatting tools at the top. The one that looks like a yellow postcard with mountains is the 'insert image' button. You must have an online photo album like flickr or picasa, then you copy the http link to your photo in that field.

No, you need the direct http link either from a photo album or a web page. You can post the link to your facebook album, but it's not how we post photos here. It' will just show up as a link.
