I get slugged $262 (AUD) by Cycling Australia because I'm an 'elite' (because I'm between the ages of 24-35), even though if I entred in some 'elite' races I would be dropped pretty quickly.
ImmaculateKadence said:Is it possible to get a one day license in AUS? If you're not racing too often that might be best and most inexpensive way. A few years ago, I was racing mountain bikes nearly every weekend and kept a license up. Now I'm at a transitional point in my life and only a race a few times each season (3-5 times). I let my license expire and now buy the one day license whenever I register. Once I get settled back in again, I'll get a license, but right now the fee isn't worth it if I only race a few times.

Anyone here on the coaching/managing side??
Michele said:Shortly as we're OT; they started as "cyclotouring events" without any ranking, where it didnt matter when you were arriving or how fast you were going.
Then the rankings appeared and quickly became more popular and right now they are actually Open races which means that also Elite guys can take part.
