As per the
official website the image posted in this thread is wrong. They use a different road mostly flat.
As per Google imagery on 2013, Road 41 seems to be unpaved and it flirts with 4800m over sea level, but I see route 3, near Laguna Estrellani, reaching the altitude you stated before.
Coming back to the race results: Yesterday's stage was won by Rodrigo Contreras (COL) and reduced his difference by 40 secs. The leader seemed to be the only Argentinian to hang in the bunch, so he kept/increased distances to other rivals.
