Dave, Sean and the irrepressible Carlton are discussing reasons why Cav didn't contest the intermediate sprints. They concluded that he 'couldn't be bothered'. Sounds about right, although a bit daft on his part.

My wife didn't get a lot of things that I could explain simply from hip-hop experience ;) Not just the slang itself, but the entire way of talking with metaphors.

But it idd goes further. We watched it on the computer and stopped very often to google certain references. (I can't stand it if I don't know what their saying/meaning)

/on topic: hey, Museeuw is on Sporza. zzzzzzz

unfortunately the only way to always understand what they are saying is to live in baltimore. Fortunately, once you have watched the show 3 or 4 times, you feel like you do.

Cav can have problems finisihing inside the time limit as it is without contesting sprints for 6 points on alpine stages.

Besides he lost a whole lot more points by giving up on stage 4 than he will get by doing these intermediate ones.

I heard Treme was from the same director. Know if it's any good?

Anyone who doesn't like season 2 of The Wire will hate Treme, it is MUCH more slow and dialogue-heavy.

of course wire is the best ever :]

i loved season 2. i guess that it was kinda easy for me to relate with sobotkas, and all other pollacks, since i'm from eastern europe. season 5 is only one that is below the quality of others, but also very good.

ontopic, boring race :]

edit: treme also kicks @ss

Havent watched it. Will do. David Simon is a great writer, and the wire is a culmination of him and his partner researching in baltimore for 20 years. So i dont know how he does setting it in new orleans. Also, its based around katrina, and simon has already done 1 anti bush show - generation kill, and it wasnt as good as the wire either, though not bad.

To be fair, this is pretty standard for a transitional stage like this. With the rolling profile it would be a real leg-breaker if it was raced at full gas so everyone just takes it easy and lets a breakaway do all the racing.

Serbia is in eastern europe or have i confused it with spain?

Edit: While we are having this exciting geographical talk, where is the difference between Holland and the Netherlands? Learned Holland as a child.. and now everyone uses netherlands.. what gives!

well a lot of it was him working in the local newspaper ( the main focus of season 5) covering drugs and homicide police (the main focuses of season 1 and secondary focuses of the whole show) while his partner worked in the local police (the main focus of season 3). But i know they then quit and spent like 7 years interviewing kids on the streets and commnity members etc, researching the show.

Autotranslate program at work or something?

No, just a terrible, terrible nickname that (as far as I can tell) no-one except CN's very own Dan Benson uses. I think he may have invented it.

Yes the balkans are in eastern europe, though many of my countrymen would take offence to the suggestion that polish people (pollacks) are.

Well Holland is English and Nederland is Dutch way to call that country.

Servia is considered Balkan as far as I'm concerned. Eastern Europe is a not narrowed down at all though, you could consider the Balkan part of Eastern Europe.

Other thing: the right name is The Netherlands. We have 2 provinces in the west that are called Noord-Holland and Zuid-Holland, that's Holland. Somehow Holland is used for The Netherlands a lot, even in the other provinces.

Both are good, but only Netherlands is correct.

As i recall, last year bastille day was equally boring, with the no radio protest and all. This is supposed to be an entertaining day.

Nope. Holland are the two coastal provinces (North and South-Holland) whereas The Netherlands refers to the entire country. Although most people, even in The Netherlands, refer to the country as Holland. And "Nederland" is the Dutch translation of "Netherlands".
