That argument get's thrown around all the time on this forum and it never gets any less ridiculous. Yes everyone on this forum has ridden a bike before and unless you are australian or something like that, chances are you have ridden in the cold.

Next cold day do this, climb the biggest climb in your area. Wait for 10 minutes and than go down. See if it isn't worse than going down right away as fast as you want.

I'm glad that I usually don't ride in those sort of conditions, that's so sad, you can't even rest from the ascent! :D
