I enjoyed De Gendt's interview after the stage; he said he attacked on the Mortirolo because the descent was dangerous and he wanted to be with the front group for it, and then "the pieces fell into place" when Carrara was up the road to pull for him in the valley before the Stelvio. I hope the pieces fall into place for him in the ITT tomorrow too, so that he can say he attacked for position on a descent, and the Giro d'Italia fell into his lap!

Which is 50ish sec per 10 k so he should be around 2:30

Yes, but I don't think Ryder will have going full gas there, and I think that a 5th-place finish shows that De Gendt was.

I thought you were overreacting. Then I saw her. I'm getting on my bike now.

You bet. I'll beat you to the line going backwards, if she's there. :D

She's just fabulous.

Hesjedal beat De Gendt by 3 seconds in the opening time trial, if that counts for anything. But tomorrow is all about having enough energy left.

Also, Hesjedal beat Rodriguez by 14 seconds over 8.7 kilometers. I know JRod will have the maglia rosa, but that's a lot to ask!

Don't worry, JR will only go fast once he goes under the kite. ;)

Gutted for Cav, so close to the hattrick. It's a shame that he probably lost it due to crashing than anything else He'll be back again, I think, maybe with a sprinting team rather than a mixed one as he had this year. Rodríguez both times did really well to get the points, and I think he deserves it for the race. Some say he hasn't attacked enough - what is he supposed to do when he is weaker unless everyone is anaerobic? He did what he could.

I say better to go out in a blaze of glory trying to win the main prize than to suck wheels all day then sprint for a consolation prize.

you realize Rollin was hit by a Vacansoleil team car that wasn't supposed to be on the course (when he was going 80km/hr) a couple of days ago.

A threat from De Gendt to Ryder?

breaking his will, starting with his nationality??:D

Didn't know.

Does that mean team Vac gets gets a DQ/time penalty for today's stage? :)
