i really hope purito loses it tomorrow.... just what he deserves for doing nothing but in the last 500m.... wheelsucker
A rider of his characteristics cannot possibly attack from 10 km from the finish and hope not to lose time at the finish.

Rodríguez isn't a diesel and you shouldn't expect him to do what diesels can do.

Your point is implying that disel riders attack but Disel riders never attack  ;) They just keep high pace and one by one drop everyone.

But I agree with you about Purito.

Pantani would rollover in his grave for the pathetic 'attacks' of Scarponi and Rodriguez.

He would however applaud De Gendt

You miss the obvious point that Scarponi and Rodríguez are *not* Pantani, so there's no point in asking them to do what Il Pirata did.

They had to do something If they didnt want to lose the Giro

Instead they did nothing and Scarponi definitely lost everything and Purito will probably lose too

worst giro of the last 10 years.still the winner and the guys from the podium will be totally worthy.

de gendt, hesjedal and purito really deserve to be there.i hope hesjedal takes it because overall he was the strongest rider out there.

now let's move to belgium, bavaria, france or whatever.

next year the giro won't have any of this monster climbing stages i feel

What makes you think they could?

Do you really think that, if they had had the legs to attack from 10 km out, they would have thought: "Nah, the Giro isn't a race worth winning"?

Let your guys work at the front, push the pace or something, Hesjedal was suffering madly all way up to Stelvio, they could have tried something

Edit:They almost lost everything to De Gendt because they did nothing at all between Mortirolo and Stelvio aswell

He would indeed.
Hopefully, Thomas the Tank Engine 2 (or 1 depending where you are from) can pull one of his specials out of the bag, tomorrow.
Ryder may have excelled and Purito been consistent, over the 3 weeks, but he's the only guy that's really gone out on a limb and taken the big gamble.
OK, he had less to lose, but for sheer entertainment and spectacle......

It's a shame we had to wait 3 weeks for a couple of hours worth.

If they had done something between the Mortirolo and the Stelvio, when De Ghendt was in front, then people would have panned them for "doing Hesjedal's dirty work".
