Oh my god, my heart stopped there. But he always had it safe in his hands.

And congratulations to Konovalovas, great victory!

If he can fall and STILL win, then he's THE winner hands down, no doubt about it.

Rabo team guy's bike change was superb, too.

Great to see Menchov finally show some feelings :)

His adrenaline level was probably so high that he could have finished the stage with both his legs broken :)

Fark ! What a finish. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Lance !

Menchov was fully pumped. I'm surprised he didn't beat the crapola out of one of the photographers at the end. Thats the most emotion he's shown in 3 weeks. Legend.

That cut on Menchov's leg was ugly. That'll need some Krazy Glue put in it.

Its too bad Astana didn't have the humility and respect to just ride the freaking race as best they could. What a bunch of whiners.

Menchov still was 21 seconds ahead of Di Luca, so he won by 41 seconds. Well done!

Well, of course his road rash will make him test positive for homologous transfusion, won't it?

Yes the Italian tabloid papers have always been at Lance. For years they've been talking about him in a negative light. Its just gutter press..... or was that the French press ? I can't remember now... I wish he would Twitter us to reminds us which country we are supposed to hate. I get confused.

I think they rehearsed that, in the sense that they agreed before the race if he gets a flat or falls, get out the new bike as fast as possible. You don't want to screw up a wheel change because you are too nervous, or to continue with a carbon bike that might have some tech problems after a fall... They looked like a formula one team doing a pit stop!

wow what an excitement. Does anyone think he could have won that TT, he fprobably lost 15-20s changin bikes and getting back in the rythm again. Glad it was just before the finish, otherwise it coul have gotten in his mind, losing time in every corner.

*of course there is also his "medical" program, but as long as nobody really wants to know, it doesn't really matter.

Sure beats all those bike changes once with Rasmussen in a TourTT. Rabo must have learnt, or at least they don't have Rasmussen changing bikes (famously picky, I hear).

Remember Riis once chucking his bike, and David Millar too.

Yea, he kept his head pretty well for the circumstances.
