He can say what he wants. He is a legend who have three more MSR than Pogacar.

For his age he is incredibly childish. Can only talk *** about riders from later eras because he can't stand someone performing better than him. Just an overall miserable figure.
All those other legends have always been nothing but gracious except for him.

Also whole peloton is racing against him on Strade, MSR, RVV, Amstel, FW and LBL. Then If he doesn't win at least 4 of those races, he is somehow a loser. Just crazy standards for TdF winner.

It appears the game for uae at P-R is multiple leaders. Or maybe just one leader with two other contenders in tow. IMO this is a recipe for failure that will rely on at least as much luck as it does ability for pogi. It requires him to match completely with mvp to win, no early pressure.

Next year and the following years Pogi will need the full team to make the race as hard as possible before tearing off the front. This maximalises his chances imo.

The multiple leader tactic does not work when one of the leaders is a guy like Pogi or MVDP.

Depends on the race and the leaders. It has worked out great for Alpecin in recent years. It's a bit different with UAE as they don't have a very strong sprint, but they should still have plenty of firepower to go against the others. I hope van Aert is at his best.

Multiple leaders is the best option for PR unless your name is Fabian Cancellara.

I think Philipsen has benefitted twice from being MVDP's teammate at Roubaix. That said, I don't think he had much to do with him winning the race on either occasion, and few would call him a leader even this year despite his previous top 2 result. A traditional domestique like Vermeersch has been more influential, imo.

2024 MSR is a good example of an Alpecin multiple-leader strategy that worked, but I can't think of many others.

But the reason I don't think a multiple leader strategy can work for UAE (or Alpecin at Roubaix, really) is that everyone involved has so much more at stake in the true leader winning to actually invest in the chances of Plan B.

To be clear, as you might know I'm not a member of the Pog-worship-cult.
I just thouroughly hate how De Vlaeminck pisses all over the performances of current riders. What I hate even more is that Belgian media for some reason keep giving him a podium.
He's not just controversial, like Pat. I often very much disagree with Pat, but as (unreasonably) hard as he can be on some, he also knows how to give a compliment and he's just an entertaining character. Not De Vlaeminck though, with his eternal "Back in my day"-bs.

Pogacar on TILT!
pissed at losing MSR now making bad judgements.
Lets see what happens

like an addict on the slot machines on a losing streak.
just stuffing more and more money in the slot

will it pay off???
If Pogacar's passion was gambling he would be banned in Macau, Las Vegas, Monaco.. anywhere with big stakes gambling would ban him!! He would be run out of bingo halls with his winning record!!
