It is amusing to see the attempts. We know why though. It because of one thing and one thing only. Has nothing to do with anything else.Yup. It is crazy to defend this guy, specially when half of the peloton was already mocked by RdV.

Same old story. I prefer to enjoy Pogacar's greatness. It is amusing to see the attempts. We know why though. It because of one thing and one thing only. Has nothing to do with anything else.
Incredible! UAE continues to show classic after classic, how s#itty they are without Pogacar. And there are 3 or 4 who want to lead some classics. I just say "Really?"
I hope they just give everything they have to make the race really hard for 150 km and then Pogacar can finish the job in Kwaremont.Maybe the real director of the team (Teddy P.) told them to save themselves for RVV.
But why always do the comparison from a presentism lens? Why not ask, how would Pogacar fare against Merckx in his era, with Pog using 1960s-1970s bikes, training methods, diet, coaching, superstitions, and secret sauces? If you always frame the debate as how would Rider X from the past fare against Rider Y in the current peloton, then you are always biasing it in favor of the current rider.Haha, these are the handful kind of people who say Pogacar isn’t better than Merckx already. The same people—nostalgia has taken over their brain—are incapable of looking forward, objectify common sense, have no idea what’s going on around them, and literally think the world stands still.
I’m sure the same guy believes the T-Ford is better than Bugatti Chiron too if asked, while simultaneously needing help to operate his phone half the week. Absolutely hilarious.
Nah, I think RDV is detracting from his own aura. Its a simple matter of showing respect. There were plenty of Flandrians before and after this guy. Sure he has a great record and beat Merckx in some classics and monuments but he never won a world title and didn't win grand tours like Pogacar. Its a simple matter of showing respect. He just comes from a different mentality, a way of life that's incompatibile with the milder tone (doubtless he would say hipocrisy) of today.
Never (to the 1st half of that sentence)Respect to LA for calling Pog the goat
He still is a legend of this sport.Never (to the 1st half of that sentence)
Like I said earlier: so is Pat for example. But I don't mind him. RdV just never, ever shows any respect to riders that raced after him. He only tries to downtalk their performance.RDV is just a brash Flandrian. I wouldn't get all worked up about it, rather just enjoy the entertainment. Rest asured, if he were racing today he'd benefit from all the advancements and play the game like everyone else. He just comes from a different mentality, a way of life that's incompatibile with the milder tone (doubtless he would say hipocrisy) of today.
I would love him to beat MVDP in RVV and then stomping him in P-R. It would be glorious.I have some weird feeling MvDP will win RVV and Pogi will win P-R. No i didn't make mistake or switch races.
That would be... well, weird indeed. But also pretty cool. I don't see it happening though.I have some weird feeling MvDP will win RVV and Pogi will win P-R. No i didn't make mistake or switch races.
Why not ? I am not a big of a fan but i respect him for what he said. Pogacar is the greatest of all time even Stevie Wonder would see that.Never (to the 1st half of that sentence)
Yes. But if Pog can win RVV dominating, maybe this can affect MVDP mentally, even if it's only a little bit. That would be... well, weird indeed. But also pretty cool. I don't see it happening though.
RVV pogi is going to destroy MvDP but P-R i just cant imagine pogi winning this raceI would love him to beat MVDP in RVV and then stomping him in P-R. It would be glorious.
Let's do one step at a time.RVV pogi is going to destroy MvDP but P-R i just cant imagine pogi winning this race
Another portuguese fan. Bem vindo!Yes. But if Pog can win RVV dominating, maybe this can affect MVDP mentally, even if it's only a little bit.
Obrigado!Another portuguese fan. Bem vindo!
We need to see UAE attacking a lot before Pogi going, and VDP having to cover the attacks.Pogacar and MVDP are seemingly just so far clear of the field that only bad luck can prevent one them winning Flanders.
I don’t think today changed much in my mind about what might happen next Sunday.
Would be interesting to know what the sector times were for Pogacar RVV 2023 Kwaremont compared to MVDP today.
I got the sense that MVDP went flat out on Kwaremont as a tester to see what he can do and what he will need to do to live with Tadej when he lifts the intensity.
I would love that. Pogi's goal is winning all 5. He alreasy has the recipe to win MSR.I have some weird feeling MvDP will win RVV and Pogi will win P-R. No i didn't make mistake or switch races.
I can't risk. Gimme RVV and then we can talk later about P-RI would love that. Pogi's goal is winning all 5. He alreasy has the recipe to win MSR.
Yup. I just want a nuclear bomb in Kwaremont.I can't risk. Gimme RVV and then we can talk later about P-R![]()
And we shall have my friend. Total carnage. I want to see Pogi putting VDP into submission, like 2023.Yup. I just want a nuclear bomb in Kwaremont.
