Great performance by what remained of UAE team.

Especially when Vingegaard said today the pace on the final climb was weak. Meanwhile Pogi looked spent on the finish
Well it's possible Vingegaard can have a sans jour, however, the real problem was Pogacar messed it up on the Galibier-Glandon stage. That will go down as a debacle of his career.Especially when Vingegaard said today the pace on the final climb was weak. Meanwhile Pogi looked spent on the finish
it's believable, the last climb was "only" 5.7 w/kgIt's either boasting or some next level risk aversion.
Neither is a good look.
Jonas is going to wake up many years in the future and replay that "sprint". He may even be moaning "why, why, WHY didn't I go earlier....!!!" in his sleep. And why did he look back at Tadej? That's like dumping gas on a fire you thought was extinguished.Especially when Vingegaard said today the pace on the final climb was weak. Meanwhile Pogi looked spent on the finish

Make it or break it tomorrow, Pog has no other choice if he wants to win this Tour de France. Or does second mean much to him?
At times it seems like Pogacar is afraid to give his best and be seen to fail.
I agree and, in the final analysis, if Vingegaard as seems likely wins this Tour then he has done so with his legs. Nothing to take away from him, chapeaux.Only way now is Pog being in supreme form tomorrow + Vingee having a bad day.
Even if he attacks and is much better than Vingee, he won't take more than 30 seconds, which is not enough to get that time on the TT. Vingee having a bad day is now a necessary variable to win the Tour.
But I really doubt it.
As I predicted a few days ago, since stage 11 Vingee will suck Pog wheel all the way to the last sprint.
I have a feeling Vingegaard is gonna counter tomorrow.Vinegaard's comment is backed by the fact McNulty was with them all the way .

Tomorrow Pogacar has got to give everything 3 or 4k from the Hautacam finish - probably won't shake off the YJ but he's at least got to try

second means a lot to his sponsors. make or break..a phrase used often...what exactly does break mean? that he rides all out until he falls off of his bike? lol...it will be a measured effort based on a moving assessment by him and his team managers. im sure that second means more to him than say 20th etc...or whatever place someone comes in from giving the "forum hardman everything" ...again, it will be a measured effort with some managed risks...as it should be ...its a bike race, not a fight for survival lolMake it or break it tomorrow, Pog has no other choice if he wants to win this Tour de France. only beaten in a bike race...beaten man....that is a much bigger statement...its a bike race..he is a millionaire...lol. he will get over it... and aim to crush next year and not make same mistakeIf nothing dramatic happens tomorrow that Galibier+Granon stage will be remembered for a long time as the moment when the campionissimo was broken losing his aura of invincibility. Before the last climb he was smiling to the camera, still unbeatable after dispatching the whole JV on Galibier. 10 km later he was a beaten man.
It means either his engine goes or it breaks down trying. In Italian the idiom is "o la va o la spacca!" It's simply a spirited (and truthful) metaphor.second means a lot to his sponsors. make or break..a phrase used often...what exactly does break mean? that he rides all out until he falls off of his bike? lol...it will be a measured effort based on a moving assessment by him and his team managers. im sure that second means more to him than say 20th etc...or whatever place someone comes in from giving the "forum hardman everything" ...again, it will be a measured effort with some managed risks...as it should be ...its a bike race, not a fight for survival lol
This is the best tour i have seen in years. love seeing these young guys going at it, wva strength, heat wave in europe...
Yes he will have learned a tough lesson with this. At the same time, he must not have been prepared for a nuclear watts bomb such as Vingegaard dropped on the Granon.Make or break in this Tour means outsprint Vinge to the line or fail to do it. He has met (at least) his equal. Big mistake thinking he is Superman on Galibier. Second is better than third.
Way to take the drama out of it. As far as bike races go, the Tour is tops, so the metaphor "beaten man" has it's narrative purpose in this cycling context. Why don't you try being less serious and/or moralistic? It's like telling Homer he was exaggerating in the Odessey.only beaten in a bike race...beaten man....that is a much bigger statement...its a bike race..he is a millionaire...lol. he will get over it... and aim to crush next year and not make same mistake
i'm a roglic fan...feel sorry for that dude...but he is strong...he will deal with it. but ouch the crashes, and after effects he has had.
I think after Granon that Vingegaard is just crazy risk aversive or just really bad at reading Pogacar. So I guess he got scared of losing time if he attacked against people doing 5.7 w/kg.
Maybe the pace was not so slow then.

He indeed cracked spectacularly. Well if your are gonna crack, best do it properly. It was the mother of all bombs but Pogacar lost a lot of time to the likes of Nairo, Thomas, Bardet. He lost 47 sec to Gaudu.
