In the last two TDF, Pogacar kind of cracked (on a very high level though) when he had to go really deep. Hot temperatures did contribute, as well. So it will all depend on, whether somone will be able to challenge Pogacar hard enough and hang on to him during the first two weeks. Difficult to see at the moment, who that would be. My best bet would be Roglic, in case he is able to improve his form further.

The team has been on an upward trajectory the last 2 months, however, their race programming leaves alot to be desired. They should have been riding an easier calendar to help develop their riders. They should have done more of the hillier 2.1 races to develop Wylie. They should never have Paternoster and Baker in the same team because if you split their programs then you will get wins. Roseman Gannon is very talented BUT it's an indictment on the team that she had never won a race because TOB because they would not send her to easier races. Anyway, Urska does perform well after altitude so lets see how she goes in Suisse. I am interested in how Ton goes at Suisse because she surprised at Andalusia.

Skeletor proved to be Pogi's kryptonite in hot TdF conditions. Other than that, I see nobody able to show consistently super-high level to challenge Pog. Obviously Pog himself may be more vulnerable due to the Giro in his legs (making the race more open and interesting) but it remains to be seen.

It was also largely a hockey stick profile rather than a multiple cat 1 and HC climbs up and down high energy expenditure stage so doesn’t definitively prove he can master the heat on the hardest days but I do think even if it is a slight weakness only near peak Vingegaard has the level to exploit it.

It doesn't matter. He was great! Last year he really lacked endurance, however he had some glimpses in his performance that showed he can beat Jonas in the mountains. This year, we won't have a battle IMHO, Pogacar seems very good and Vingegaard will probably lack race sharpness during the Tour. Maybe next year, we will have a proper fight. These 2 are giving us the best duel Cycling has ever witness in GT's. I would love to see both winning all GT's and winning 5 Tours each. They are so good!

He is doing the first real altitude training this year in these 3 weeks (in April he wasn't sleeping at altitude). Can he get another gear, specially because he will be 1 kilo lighter or will he fade due to fatigue and not being able to reach top shape? I think he has more room than most gc riders who race Dauphiné because they will only train for 10 days when Pogi is doing a 3 weeks training camp so he has more time to build and improve his shape. On the other hands, it is hard to believe guys like Roglic will improve a lot in 2 weeks.

UAE may indeed think that he has another level in him. It's possible that he will be even stronger in the first part of the Tour, reach the crest and start going down later in the race (maybe also because of fatigue). Time will tell, I'm curious myself.

Well the first 3 week training camp (Giro) went great so no reason not to think the 2nd 3 week training camp at altitude will do anything other than get him n the condition to do serious damage in the early stages of the Tour.
