Yes he was.
Did you see Stage 20?
Yes I did watch stage 20, how does that contradict my point exactly?
If you think losing a minute in a stage is getting slaughtered you have a strange definition of what getting slaughtered is.

Remco had his team working all day for him, he tried the best he could to attack Vingegaard, and he suffered a nasty counter.Yes I did watch stage 20, how does that contradict my point exactly?

I think it’s a bit different for people who doesn’t necessarily mean that the best GT rider automatically mean being the better rider. Cycling is (for most people) much more than just the Tour GC.IMHO, he was slaughtered and it was clear to see Vingegaard still is the best rider out of the 2.

What is the most famous, most important race, and what is every cyclist's biggest dream? No, what Vingegaard showed that day (or better saying in the Tour) is that he is the best climber of the two and the best stage racer of the two. However that doesn't mean Vingegaard is the best rider out of the 2 because when it comes to one-day races, him and Remco are not even on the same page.
I'm sorry, but the Tour de France is the epitome of world cycling, always has been and always will be. And we saw that even in the face of a Vingegaard not in an ideal form (according to him) , Remco couldn't do anything against him, even losing time in the Stage 21 Time Trial.I think it’s a bit different for people who doesn’t necessarily mean that the best GT rider automatically mean being the better rider. Hmm will he also end up like Ronaldo and never be world champion? It will be interesting to see, a better chance then this years RR will not appear. But the hard truth is.....he is.
Even the Slovenian riders were telling: you must bring Pogacar, whatever it takes.
About your other statements, just horseshit.
Well, different sports and totally useless comparison.Hmm will he also end up like Ronaldo and never be world champion? It will be interesting to see, a better chance then this years RR will not appear.
Concerning his arrogance in believing he is better then his nation in deciding who should go to the Olympics, I wonder how the other athletes about this. Is it the way to qualify for the OG to xxxx the right partner?
If you only watch 1 single race, and deem that to be the most important than you are correct. In the actual cycling world, there is more than just TDF. There is a reason why Pogacar goes for MSR and went for De Ronde. It's extremely important. You can go give your advices to someone else.
And I am not your mate.
I have my opinion, and if you can't respect one other than yours, GFY.
For me, Vingegaard is the superior rider. Period.

Sure, but it's not based on facts and figures. Every rank has him above Vingegaard, just not in a single type of race on the whole calendar...Yes, I know.
But Pogacar wants to beat Merckx, you know that.
I am not diminishing any of these races, but a lot of riders, in the past, in the present (and in the future) focus all their season on the Tour.
And we saw that Remco is still the lesser rider where it matters.
It's my opinion. You can have yours, and I will respect it.
Then again, for me Vingegaard is the superior rider (and I don't like him at all).Sure, but it's not based on facts and figures. Every rank has him above Vingegaard, just not in a single type of race on the whole calendar...

I respect other opinions but didn't like the way you presented yours and I am entitled to engage in a discussion because of it. This is a forum after all.
However you don't seem to be able to engage in a discussion without resorting to personal insult so I will let you live in your own bubble without bothering any further...
Doubt it, Remco is in it for a big and diverse palmares, not for a single race. If he never wins the TDF, but 2-3 more GT's, a couple of monuments and maybe another WC. He won't trade that palmares for a single TDF.I can bet my house Remco would trade both gold medals today for a Tour de France win.
I love Evenepoel but ofcourse he would trade OL gold for TDF win thats a no brainer as it gets cmon.. Even WC is above OL in cycling that beeing said there isnt any doubt at all that Evenepoel is the second best rider in the world, zero. And my boy keeps improving give it 2 years I think he is ahead of Vingegaard in Grand tours aswell. But as a overall rider he is easy nr 2 already and will only get better allez allez EvenepoelDoubt it, Remco is in it for a big and diverse palmares, not for a single race. He sees this as his biggest achievement in cycling. So indeed maybe only TDF might be worth more to him, but you’ve got a shot at that once a year. A double in cycling at the Olympics is very very rare.I love Evenepoel but ofcourse he would trade OL gold for TDF win thats a no brainer as it gets cmon.. Yes, of course it is, he is the first to achieve. He sees this as his biggest achievement in cycling. So indeed maybe only TDF might be worth more to him, but you’ve got a shot at that once a year. A double in cycling at the Olympics is very very rare.
Obv he would lets not fool ourself. But, again, imho he trade both medals for a TDF right now without blinking.
I love Evenepoel now im sure you know that and what I said before the Tour about him which happened and then some. Love Evenepoel he is coming and people better be ready for him.He sees this as his biggest achievement in cycling. As far as i know wva is riding worldsPogacar is in a league of his own. Remember when some people say Remco is a superb engine (he is), the best engine in the world, etc but Pogacar close a 15 seconds gap to him in the Tour (gravel stage) with one leg? Yes, he is a different beast this year. I have a hard time seeing Remco beating Pogacar, specially because he can't play 2x1 card (WVA won't be there).
Remco fanboys in the Remco thread frothing at the mouth by speculating that Remco drops Pog like a stone. We saw in the Tour how easy it was for Pog to shut down boy wonder.Fabulous performance from Remco but hard work to shake off the conviction that Pogacar would at worst have held the wheel and been heavy favourite in a 2 up sprint and likely sroooed him on the final time up Montmartre.
