IMHO, he was slaughtered and it was clear to see Vingegaard still is the best rider out of the 2.

I think it’s a bit different for people who doesn’t necessarily mean that the best GT rider automatically mean being the better rider. Cycling is (for most people) much more than just the Tour GC.

No, what Vingegaard showed that day (or better saying in the Tour) is that he is the best climber of the two and the best stage racer of the two. However that doesn't mean Vingegaard is the best rider out of the 2 because when it comes to one-day races, him and Remco are not even on the same page.

Yes, Remco is a better one-day rider, but where it matters the most, Vingegaard is still a 2x champion.

For me Remco is in the Big 6 (in fact I think there is only a big 4) because he is in 1st top tier in classics and he is the best TT. His palmares speaks for itself, he is only 24 and has accomplished unique goals that no one (active riders) has ever accomplished.

I'm sorry, but the Tour de France is the epitome of world cycling, always has been and always will be. And we saw that even in the face of a Vingegaard not in an ideal form (according to him) , Remco couldn't do anything against him, even losing time in the Stage 21 Time Trial.

Yes, I can agree with you, he missed a huge opportunity, I was cringing today, he would crush Remco.
But it is what it is, the Slovenian coach is a corrupt person, Urska is the Slovenian champion in both RR and TT, and Pogacar decided to support his girl.

Was I disappointed? Of course!!!

Jonas Vingegaard is too one dimensional. He is custom made for grand tour racing. But road racing isn't just grand tours or even shorter stage races. I doubt Vingegaard will ever win the worlds or Olympics road race - he doesn't have the tools for that, unlike both Pogacar and Remco.

And on the Tour de France we also know by raw data that Vingegaard produced his best ever watts per kilo at the Tour, and was still soundly beaten. Yes, better than 2022 and 2023. Anticipation for the 2025 Tour is building already.

Doubt it, Remco is in it for a big and diverse palmares, not for a single race. If he never wins the TDF, but 2-3 more GT's, a couple of monuments and maybe another WC. He won't trade that palmares for a single TDF.

I love Evenepoel but ofcourse he would trade OL gold for TDF win thats a no brainer as it gets cmon.. Even WC is above OL in cycling that beeing said there isnt any doubt at all that Evenepoel is the second best rider in the world, zero. And my boy keeps improving give it 2 years I think he is ahead of Vingegaard in Grand tours aswell. But as a overall rider he is easy nr 2 already and will only get better allez allez Evenepoel

I love Evenepoel now im sure you know that and what I said before the Tour about him which happened and then some. Love Evenepoel he is coming and people better be ready for him.

Well he is the best TT in the world we all know that and when Pogacar is not in the OL since he is the second best rider in the world its not a shocker to me at all he did what he did but indeed a remarkable feat without a doubt and only solidify Evenepoel status as a really great rider already historic speaking and in the peloton today as the clear nr 2. That Evenepoel took these steps before the Tour and now while he and Pogacar, the mutual respect created during the Tour was a beaty to watch. Evenepoel will only get better aswell now that those keys are unlocked in GT and I love it.

Pogacar is in a league of his own. Remember when some people say Remco is a superb engine (he is), the best engine in the world, etc but Pogacar close a 15 seconds gap to him in the Tour (gravel stage) with one leg? Yes, he is a different beast this year. I have a hard time seeing Remco beating Pogacar, specially because he can't play 2x1 card (WVA won't be there).
