From psychological point of view i don't see any reason on why not. From palmares point of view i am sure that both will still try. Like they do at any other race participating.

It should normally not really be a problem. The Tour is still more than two months away. Van Vleuten broke her wrist last year less than a week before becoming world champion.

Pogacar can't afford anything less than an optimal Tour preparation. He will compete there against the Fishy Monster not some wannabes.

But one can keep training, that's the important part. And Pogačar would probably already have planned some rest and recovery for the coming weeks.

Hard to imagine it’s not broken if a wrist pulled him out of this particular race. Hope not, but seems like bad news.

Terrible news for Pog after his great spring. I hope he can heal and recover enough to be 100% at the Tour.
Why? Cause you have a fracture that needs body resources to heal and takes 4-6 weeks to do so? Ever wondered why GC contenders are sometimes completely out of contention even if "only" suffering superficial injuries (road rash etc.)?
He was worse than Vingegaard last year with an optimal preparation. Porbably overconfident though, thats why I thought he might be stronger this year and I only rated Vingegaard at 60/40 vs. Pogacar. But should he really have broken his wrist, I can't see how that wouldn't shift clearer towards Vingegaard. And no, the problem is not necessarily the few days off the bike.
But lets see and hope for the best.

It's pointless to start downplaying the severity of the injury or talking about how he can still be 100% in two months time.
No one wants to break their wrist 9 weeks before the TdF. It's a cr*p thing to happen & big shame. Injuries & crashes keep on robbing cycling fans of some of the epic moments we all wait for, in this instance it was Liège that was ruined from an entertainment perspective.
But that's just part of the sport, unfortunately. It could happen to any rider at any moment, even in training.

Obviously this is bad news but I guess rather a broken wrist than a broken leg or something like that. I don't doubt he'll be at least near his best come July. I'm mostly sad he was kept from batteling it out against Remco today.
