I think so, however they look incredibly sharp and look more convincing than Roglic and this is kinda of strange to me and a little bit of concern since Yates and Almeida are a lot weaker than Pogacar. If Roglic isn't better than Yates and Almeida in the Tour, this Tour will not have a story unless Vingegaard has a magical recovery.
He doesn't need a magical recovery. Today stef crass who had a worse injury on the same crash with jonas, finished with gc group of narvaez and bilbao in tour of slovenia. I believe jumbo were playing the kg game with the media. good news for jonas fans🤗

Just like Pogacar didn't had a worse injury than Vingegaard last year, so he didn't needed a magical recovery.

Mate relax, either way u put it u are going to be witnessing this summer the most stacked gc competition of 21st century being dominated by an alien dropping in the 21st century. Enjoy it cause u are lucky to be part of it🤝

Well at least this means the team strength tables will likely be turned on Visma. At the last two Tours Vingegaard had a virtual armchair ride behind his teammates whilst Pogacar blew himself up. Interesting to see how Pog rides behind a super strong team. But Pogacar did seem to curtail his instincts on several stages at the Giro with the double in mind.

Toby will tell you that someone else did rather well after doing all three GTs.

Boys, it looks like joao almeida has been taken by sola this year🤩 tour is over!!!
Also sharing Adam victories, so we can assume he train him too. There was doubts about it in this forum...

Adam yates improved a lot since he left Ineos. He did podium last year at the Tour. Who is the coach of Adam Yates? He must be a really good coach.
I wouldn't say yates has improved that much but he found consistency.. look at his numbers in jebel hafeet when he was at ineos. He nearly dropped pog on multiple occasions on that climb. I heard him saying he hasn't increased his level that much but uae had a strict nutrition plan where he found the same level doing race after race.

Is history repeating itself?

  • 1981 Hinault wins the Tour.
  • 1982 Hinault wins the Tour.
  • 1983 Fignon wins the Tour.
  • 1984 Fignon wins the Tour.
  • 1985 Hinault wins the Giro-Tour double.

  • 2020 Pogacar wins the Tour.
  • 2021 Pogacar wins the Tour.
  • 2022 Vingegaard wins the Tour.
  • 2023 Vingegaard wins the Tour.
  • 2024 ???
Only Vingegaard never wins the Tour again and Evenepoel three.

I don't know who trains Adam, I only know that when he wins, Javier Sola publishes stories about him...and he doesn't do it with everyone on the team.
Adam is trained by san milan as of now and sola shares stories whoever wins from the team but congratulates his trainees by mentioning them. As @mou said pog has exposed san milan and a guy with almeidas charater demands the best. I was surprised and curious when i saw him pulling for 5 km on the cari stage and eventually dropping everyone but yates. Has anyone saw almeida showing such displays on back to back mountain days?
