Remco is the best time trialist in the world, he was expected to win the stage and he did. Remco has always gained time in every single time trial they raced against each other and that still remains the case.

He will lose the TT in Nice. Third week is when Pogacar and specially Vingegaard reveal their true shape!

Remember that Pogi gained 20s on Galibier on Remco in 800m an 10s on Vinge.
One single time bonus for the win is worth the same as today's 1-2 time difference.

This ITT will be completely irrelevant, compared to the effort it required (from material, preparation, route, the event etc.).
In the "gool old times" (khm Indurain, Lance, ..) ITT's could swing the timetable by multiple minutes.
Perhaps the one in Nice will make a difference, if things stay close, which I higly doubt.

It's obvious that pogi has an ally in remco. Remco isn't going to win the tour unless pogi collapses which isn't possible. The videos where remco reports to pogo post stage is telling.
If pogis team... almeida and ayuso are not enough of a threat for vingo to chase. Then remco will be enough of a threat for vingo to chase. And remco also does well in his first tour de France. Pogi sitting up and waiting for remco a few days ago was very telling. Timing was off but the intent was telling. Remco will be great ally for pogi this tour.

I only hope the resemblance with 2020 TDF, where Roglič had such an "alliance" with Pogi, stops for the Nice ITT.

Great ride by Pogacar, Roglic and Vingegaard just did better than expected. Hopefully the can get the gap to 2 mins plus from stages 9 and 11. Then just has to follow and use his better mountain team. There’s still the threat of a raid by 2-3 of the big 4 in the final week that causes someone to lose a lot of time.

pog has been goading remco for years to come to tour, cause he knows,he can be his best weapon againt jonas wheelsucking.another punchy guy,who can attack.they both are more explosive than jonas and can empty him.attrition vs blitzkrieg basically.

Jonas wheelsucking?
It was a good tt I think, similar level to Giro which is very hard to do on your 2nd GT. I will say that stuff about shaving 45 seconds off noise coming out of his team was nonsense.

He needs to bury VIngegaard asap
He did a good ITT, the perfomance he did that's what was expected of him today.

Roglic also did a good perfomance, Vingegaard did great considering what happened.

Remco did a good perfomance, also what was expected of him today.

He is a beast in 3-5% sections but he can't compete with the best (Remco or Ganna) on flat roads. The same goes for Vingegaard. In fact they are very similar.
Didn't he went slower on the 3-5% section compared to Evenepoel? The only moment he gained time was in the descent.

It is all about the pace strategy. I was referring to a TT in 3-5% gradients all the time. Not just a small section. For example Roglic was faster than Remco after the second time check, this doesn't mean Roglic is better than Remco on faster roads, this just means he saved himself for the last part of the stage.

Roglic was, like Pogacar, faster in de descent than Evenepoel. Both of them lost time from T3 - finish towards Evenepoel.

You're right but I still maintain my point. Pogacar can compete with Remco in 3-5% TT not on completely flat roads.

Today was a very hard day to gain seconds those seconds wasnt your normal seconds in this wind conditions and high speed from it, which you can see on the gaps to Kung, vaquelin etc. He is very strong even with the Giro in the legs its pretty insane. Properly after next weekend the gap is 2minutes and yeah the only thing that worriesome with him is obvious the giro but everyone knew that going in.
