That didn't change his plans, he has been quite clear about that. No, he wouldn't. It was planned but his wife got pregnant.
Just like the previous child.

LBL is such a winnable monument. Can’t see him skipping that under any scenario.A 5th alternative could be MSR, Ronde, PR, Tour, Vuelta, WC and Lombardia.
Maybe he should have skipped the Ardennes this season, as it is also the one he is the least prepared for.
It would have been an alternative to skip to fit in other targets later.... but since he going for it all this spring, he has to skip something later or risk being worse off from it.LBL is such a winnable monument. Can’t see him skipping that under any scenario.
I think he just should never try go for it all in one season. This uae tour is a problem in race day terms. Strade was hard. MSR mostly hard. RVV and P-R were absolutely nails. Esp P-R. He gave up E3 and GW. Would prefer to see him skip AG and FW or at least hope we’ll never hear of it again.
Some season he’ll have to try to bake in E3 and possibly oomloops and GW.
It seems to really boil down to how hard the tour is. All roads run through it.
God wiling, late career objectives would include missing 1 week tours, and anything else he hasn’t conquered.
If he completes the Ardennes treble this year to nail the unfinished business from 2023 I think he won’t go back to AGR and FW more than a couple of times in his career which will help his schedule management. This uae tour is a problem in race day terms. When did his second child born? That didn't change his plans, he has been quite clear about that.
Just like the previous child.
Pais Vasco is the only one week stage race difficult for him due to his schedule. This uae tour is a problem in race day terms. Strade was hard. MSR mostly hard. RVV and P-R were absolutely nails. How can you see if he was tired or not?He looked little tired on recon, lol.well see.
Nah, I hope he never goes back to Slovenia. A waste of time. Dauphiné will be good to test his shape against Vingegaard.Does he have to race the Dauphine? Tour of Slovenia is an option. It's an easier race and only 5 stages. He could then add the national championships.
Depends on his reaction to altitude. Not all riders respond the sameDoes he have to race the Dauphine? Tour of Slovenia is an option. It's an easier race and only 5 stages. He could then add the national championships.
I think romandie not so fitting. Suisse too.Pais Vasco is the only one week stage race difficult for him due to his schedule.
Suisse is a prep race for the Tour. Easy to win for him.I think romandie not so fitting. Suisse too.
Yup. No one cares about one week stage races. They are good to prepare the Tour or the Giro.It seems Pogacar doesn't care about one-week races.
most contenders seem to prefer the Dauphne over Suisse. Something about the timing.Suisse is a prep race for the Tour. Easy to win for him.
If you’re talking about the week following a proper (over 2200 meters) altitude camp, it would be highly unusual to find riders who don’t get ANY benefits from altitude. Unless there’s something off with their erythropoiesis functioning, the hypoxia will increase HCT which is always going to give at least some boost. Perhaps the exception would be if a rider has a very high baseline HCT (like 49%) then they couldn’t race until HCT dropped back below 50?Not really.
Besides that, not every rider benefits from altitude.
Of course. Dauphiné is better but Suisse is not that bad.most contenders seem to prefer the Dauphne over Suisse. Something about the timing.
He will rest a week. Go back to training for a week and then he will go to Sierra Nevada. There are also 4 weeks between Dauphiné and the Tour. He will have a 2 weeks altitude training camp.Between LBL and Dauphine is 6 weeks.
His team is probably scheduling 3-4 days off after LBL, then gradual increase of intensity in altitude over the next 4 weeks to become a mountain goat. And then a little taper a few days before Dauphine.
Then after Dauphine an other short altitude camp to max out shape.
Also I think already starting now he will slowly start to lose some weight
