While you're right that Pogi took a step up last year, it's important to remember that Vingegaard probably wasn't at 100%. I don't see how he could have been, to be honest, given the awful Basque Country crash. So I think we could get a very close battle between them if they both come into the Tour at 100%.
Still, Vinge had his best TdF ever. Performance wise.

I'm Team Pog, but I really appreciate Vingegaard as a rider. Having both him and Pog at the Tour makes it more exciting. If we only had one of them, it would be pretty boring.

Yup, Pogacar would be a 5 time TdF winner or alternatively Vingegaard would be a 4 time TdF winner (and none of them would have a big rival). Vingegaard is the main reason why Tour 2025 has suspence.

I'm not sure about the one who's missing in action. Let's wait until July.
Don't be silly, Vingegaard already won the Tour twice against Pogacar. He arrived last year in his best shape but had a suboptimal preparation. If not, he would be even better IMHO and Don't forget Visma will be stronger than UAE in the mountains.

I'm quietly optimistic that this year could be the best Tour so far in terms of their rivalry. Fingers crossed anyway!

That's history, I have no idea where he stands today. But I expect Jonas to be at least runner up.

Yeah, Pogi would be a 5 time TdF winner if Javier Sola came to UAE earlier. Inigo San Millan wasn't doing his job properly. Tadej Pogacar himself said that he wants a new trainer.

Yates, Kuss, Matteo vs Almeida, Yates, Sivakov

If they are all at their best, I would choose Visma domestiques
Yeah, then you’re living in the past, 22 or 23 still cause notihng of that resemble anything in 25 or even 24.

Adam Yates is significantly better than Simon. Kuss is worse than Sivakov (just look at the reference from last year’s Vuelta). Kuss hasn’t improved his numbers since 2023 and has shown he can improve further. Expecting that he will miraculously do so is not grounded in reality at all.

Almeida is stronger than Jorgenson uphill. Every single one you mentioned is worse than UAE’s rider you mentioned, and you haven’t even tapped into the depth of UAE’s roster yet. It’s a wild comment that makes zero sense in 25, zero.

2022 Visma
2023 started Visma then UAE started doing better and derailing the Visma train
2024 UAE
2025 the biggest question would be Almeida 100% sacrificing himself if it’s needed but so far UAE has been better

Almeida will not give 100% and by 100% I mean risking blowing up.
