To win the stage, he had to attack at 7-8 km. It's an unnecessary risk for a leader.
He defended the jersey in the Queen Stage with 5500m of gain.
I think he did an awesome job, rode with intelligence.

Almeida's DNS meant he missed two stage wins, but Pogacar was smart. He can't take risks for just one stage, and there are other objectives to be achieved this season.

Would have loved for him to win the last two stages but wasn’t ment to be. Most likely he won’t get the KoM or Points jerseys now as well but the overall win is most important. Finishing the season with wins at Vuelta, Worlds, Wolrds TT, and GdL would be the best season ever.
Yates is quite alright... but neither him, Soler or Sivakov should have been picked right?

Compare this to Isola last year where he went crazy for the stage because after the Tour he was resting.
Yes! And truth to be told, 4 victories in this Tour is already an amazing feat.
