It's incredible to read many people on X saying yesterday's stage is a moral victory for Visma. LOL
Pogacar, being younger, just won twice as many Tour de Frances as Vingegaard.

And what they don't tell is that while Pogacar had a hard spring, going to Roubaix, Vingegaard was training for the Tour de France, and still hasn't dropped him a single day.

And of course, if Vingegaard had had that accident in the first week, they would have spent the entire Tour crying, and that has an asterisk.
Pogacar has barely spoken about that accident; other cyclists would have been lamenting the entire Tour.

But according to someone who uses Vineggaard as his avatar, objective opinion 😂, it's Pogacar who resembles Armstrong, who spent all year without competing or showing high level until Tour de France, where he was indestructible, and who became a Tour de France winner suddenly.
This description doesn't exactly remind of Pogacar.... 🙄

Vingegaard will have a harder time to win big races. If he can't beat Pogacar, he probably will start to fight for secondary GTs.
I'm pretty sure he will win the Vuelta and next year, he will race Giro-Tour.

Pog is fine physically. Probably he is frustrated mentally for a number of reasons.

It all depends on if he's able to recover well after the Tour. Sure, it is still looking more likely that Pogi is not going to ride the Vuelta but if he's able to sufficiently recover, then why not tackle the Vuelta if he wants to? At this point, no decision is final yet anyway.

Poor Froome. He is gone in 2 days.
Netserk is also banned, Vingegaard lost 2 fans during this TdF.
Of course Vingegaard is more similar to LA than Pogacar, specially on their qualities and schedules.

He reached his best level last year. I don't buy that. Cycling already showed to me crashes that normally change careers are always in the head or lower body injuries.
WVA - His knee
Schleck - hip
Froome - hip/femur
Soler - head (a lot of riders had fatal injuries)
TGH - leg
Etc.

Normally ribs, collarbones, arms are "easy" to recover to your best.
For example, Remco was so lucky in 2020. He didn't even need a surgery (for his hip) but IIRC, he was 2mm away from being in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

When Pogacar was trying to make a comeback in the Tour and was good at rain, it used to be 40 degrees. Now that he's leading, it rains almost every day :sweatsmile:

Is it prudent to give freedom to Wellens today? In this weather, there could be any accident.
I know he has "won" the Tour, but that's why it's the day to be more defensive. And even more so when Soler and Sivakov have dropped.
Complicate as little as possible.

the gap in favour of pogacar is much bigger than what this tour would imply (and more than 4 minutes is already a big gap). Apart from his crash it's clear that pogacar has been sick, and in the last few days it seems like it got worse

Visma has talent had dozens of different combinations that could have really made the race interesting but the boss like a dog with a bone wouldn't retreat from his idiotic entrenched position of breaking Pogacar into pieces.. Dismal disaster.. And rider for rider with Almeida abandoning, Visma with slight edge, again boss decided rather than concentrate resources, his spread them all over and by thining the talent allowed riders from UAE to do less and get more. MVP Jhonatan " Jonny" Narvaez was able to do everything asked of him and much more!! Yates and Soler solid riding, Wellens with great overall showing this year.. And Politt did the work of 10 men for first @11-12 days on the front just digging in..guy was an absolute powerhouse for first half of the Tour!!

Vingo rode his best numbers at PdB last year. If Pog were not here, people would be talking bout what a massive gap Vingo has over Lipo. We'd be treated to a miserably boring Tour, replica of the horrendous SkyBot era.

It is always worth a try on the final Montmartre. Only 6 km from the finish. But anyway, if it's raining and GC is neutralized, he probably won't attack anyway and he'll just stay safe until the finish.

In Visma, the already seem himself winners of the Vuelta. It would be epic if Pogacar announced next week that he's also going :sweatsmile: .
It's a shame it won't be like that. Without him, it will be easy for Vingegaard.

Almeida and Ayuso will have a bad day, an illness, or an accident as usual. And even if they don't, I don't see them as being as rivals as they say.

"It's going to be tough to decide. Of course I would like to go to the Vuelta. Every year I do the Tour and I would like to do the Vuelta one day also, so we will see."
Vingegaard already confirmed it.
Pog is still being mysterious.
