MVDP might be able to top 10 in Rwanda but a podium is a fantasy.It has a huge amount of cumulative vertical metres but with the vast majority of the climbing being 1km efforts on cobbles it would be a race that potentially MVDP could still podium.
This is a course akin to what Glasgow was for Pogacar where he could compete and win a medal but very difficult to win.
More importantly, he is taking the opportunity of an unfavorable worlds course to race MTB worlds instead. Montreal next year might present another such opportunity.
