Yeah, about ~10 riders did beat them right now, this is great to watch for me

There is a difference, though. The majority of these guys are specialized GC riders whose clear force is climbing. Pogacar not only climbs better than the best climbers, but he can also sprint with some of the best sprinters, he can time trial better than the best time trialists, and he will beat the van der Poels, Van Aerts, and Pedersens on the cobbles to top it all off.

Credibility is a spectrum, in my opinion. When pure climbers start contesting the times set by Pantani and Armstrong it's not completely out of the realm of credibility to chalk it up to the huge steps taken in terms of especially training and fueling. But when one guy is so clearly the very best at genuinely everything, the alarm bells have to go off big time.

Pogacar is basically climbing like Pantani, while still having the acceleration of Sagan and the peak watts of Cancellara. That is just incredible - as in not at all credible.

This is the first time I actually thought 'motors'
My first time having those unpleasant thoughts were during RvV '23 up the Oude Kwaremont last time - having climbed it myself several times at pace, the hardest cobbles, which slow your speed - he flew over those sections so easily as literally 'flew' compared to his competitors - that it hit me instantly.

It doesn't take much dynamic magnetism to make the little decisive difference.
I don't know the UCI's checking methods in this area here, but it should be convincing to me.

Bernal has said he's back at his pre crash level. That says even more.

I don't know if it applies for the Tour, but he was also saying that his were better than for his Tour win. There has been a massive change. Something like the 90ies is going on. Just what?

Yup. Anyone joining UAE or Visma flies. QS as suspicious as ever, just changed program lol

Suddenly most of the altitude natives from Colombia can no longer keep up with bigger guys, there was a clear trend change after 2019 and it feels a lot like the 90ies.

Pog is basically the perfect bard.
Not just a good all arounder, but the best of all.

I just wonder whats next.. maybe he will go for that cross championship, I am sure he would win it.

I mean [again], even Landa almost broke Pantani's record. It's far from just UAE.

I don't understand what is happening. I have no doubt they are all doping, but that the entire peloton routinely rides this fast on hard stages is... No words.
I doubt it to be honest. I don't see any other riders being this dominant on all terrain, every stage in every stage race all year long. That's what's been bothering me with Pogacar since 2020.

But Pogi has been riding like this for years, why are you surprised just now? He's been called " modern Eddy Merkx" for a while now.

I care about the "incredible" part way more than the "credible" part while watching any sport. Top athletes in any sport have doped since forever, and there is no reason to believe that it's going to change at all. I am happy to enjoy the show

What makes you think I am surprised just now? I am not surprised, I knew this was coming two or three years ago when he just kept adding and adding and adding to his arsenal. That doesn't make it more credible, though.

But there have been great Allrounders before, it's just that their focus was more on the TT than at climbing. Sure no one is better than Pogacar, but the overall level has undoubtedly gone up in an insane way. There's been a massive jump, all of a sudden.

Well, the riders are still going to be different. Pogačar is, without a doubt, special - it's not like he'd be an amateur without the doping. But I just don't see why would a professional athlete not dope, it's rational to do so.

Anyway, I honestly don't think it really matters anymore - it's not like there's big motivation among the governing bodies or even fans to resolve this. Might as well enjoy the fun.

Though on the other hadt, it is kind of hard to enjoy when it's like this.

Oh well.

UAE dont even care anymore. This is so over the top that any sane person can see whats happening
Middle East owns majority of sports now. We will find out in 20 years they did a Lance and kept it all quiet. They have to be better than the white man with their endeavours
