Levi has never been great in the mountains. All he can do is just hang on to others wheels.

Do you have pain graphs to back this up? Gesink has been suffering for large parts of this Tour (he rode the Roubaix stage with a fracture in his arm, mind! And during the same stage he fell on the other arm, which has been hurting since then).auscyclefan94 said:Moondance, don't compare gesinks injuries with Cadel. In a different startosphere!

rhubroma said:I understand Andy's tactic today. Just sit on AC's wheel and don't give a damn what's going on up the road. Brilliant to conserve the Yellow tonight, less convincing to win in Paris! He wants to make Alberto over exert himself. And Alberto can be suceptible to an over confidence and hasty reactions.
At the same time if Andy doesn't have at least a minute on AC going into the last time trial, he's done. But he didn't have the legs to attack Alberto today. While Alberto didn't have the legs to drop Andy. One cancels the other, though only one tried to put his nose out the window. Whose tactic will be more winning in the end? All of which makes the the race that more interesting.
We have learned today that there are no phenomenons in the race, whereas those like Basso and Kruezeger that thought at the begining to have prospects of glory have been detached from the plot.
Tomorrow and Thursday will tell us about Schleck's chances...and AC's.

Gesink would never do that. He'd just keep riding his own pace and chose to drop early, and then passing all dead guys like Evans.

ive never even mentioned Gesink till you brought it up.......Thoughtforfood said:??? You guys come in here whining every day and posting stupid crap about people like Gesink and others and we are the problem? Is almost funny to watch...almost.
I am not rubbing anything in. Fact is that Cuddles can't hack it for whatever reason. Fact is that even if he were healthy, he would lose. It is his whole persona when it comes to GT's. I'd get used to it if I were you.
LugHugger said:+1 but what do you expect from the hysterical Eurosport commentary teams? That idiot Kirby was saying that he was 'expecting Lance Armstrong and Cadel Evans to go for the win today'. The man is a cretin.
Armstrong is saving himself for the TT.theyoungest said:The TT isn't ideal for Menchov, but it certainly isn't for Contador either. He usually gains time in uphill parts, not on the flat.
its always the big bad aussie's fault isnt in?????????Mellow Velo said:This thread is starting to drop off the back and into an insult slinging match.
Best to take a deep breath and ignore the subjective blindness that is descending.
Sanchez may cause a few problems tomorrow. It seems to be ideal for his particular talent.
A difficult day for the wheel suckers..........Yes, that means you, Bottle!
sportzchick said:you want to count his and discount Cadel's injury....Mr. Pot meet Mr. Kettle
FWIW they are both doing one hell of a job just to hang in the tour

And straight!!!!BroDeal said:It is pretty much flat, so he should only crash once or twice.

It is a straight power tt so the hevier more powerful rider will do better which is menchov. AC likes technical course where he can accelerate out of the corners.theyoungest said:The TT isn't ideal for Menchov, but it certainly isn't for Contador either. Di Luca isn't a great TTer by any means. Menchov did however also beat guys like Leipheimer, Millar, and Brajkovic on this TT. It was totally different, though. It was really loooong, yes, but also really hilly.TourOfSardinia said:Armstrong is saving himself for the TT.
BTW Menchow did destroy Di Luca (later banned) on a longish TT in the Giro last year - I was impressed by his stamina.
The Hitch said:yep. I think many people sympathise a bit with Carlton though, cos he is their back up guy for a number of sports not just cycling, and clearly doesnt understand much about it, but still tries. Makes comical mistakes though. Like calling Basso as the Liqui guy all the way up the Ventoux when it was szmyd etc
