It was there!

Chris Boardman saying Contador was ok to go, he was already closing the gaps so it was fine to carry on.

Alos question Shleck no having a chain watch? Cost him 50grams?

Think I might change my forum name to `Dirk Hofman' in tribute.

Not sure a chain guard would even weigh that much, could go to Weight Weenies to check this out I suppose.

This is going to be the second tainted tour win from AC. He only won in 2007 because the yellow jersy was pulled out, and now he is gifted a win by a chain falling off.

Yet again you show that you capable of trolling regardless of the subject or thread.

No, just don't like Andy. Personally, I wish SS or Menchov were in the lead.

I went back and watched, and Andy attacked when Contador was at the back. He OBVIOUSLY was not back there because he was struggling. Andy saw that and decided to attack. Someone needs to ask the little whiner why he attacked when Contador was at the back? It is one thing to attack someone when they are at the back because they are falling off, and quite another if he were back for another reason, which is the case there.

And excuse me if I find Andy's comment about him not racing if it were him laughable. He didn't wait on stage 3.

Nothing but excuses and denial from an exposed AC Fanboy.

It's called pro cycling. If you're not in the right position then it's your own fault. Totally different to a chain falling off.

well at least we have a real rivalry instead of a friendly rivalry, I want to see what AC has to say, both were wrong Schleck for attacking when Ac was at the back of the group(I guess he learned from Cancellara) and Alberto for not pushing forward

i don't agree.
i cannot understand how it's schleck's fault that conta was at the back of the group. No way are they even. BUT taht being said, this is cycling and it happens and i can't fault AC for making tyhe most of the situation -- just like what happend to cadel last vuelta... unlucky yes, but it's still a race.

note: was it me or did ac look very smug on the podium haha, he has no remorse.

LMFAO, so now everyone, who has bashed Phil and Paul the last 2 weeks is supposed to agree with what they say. CLASSIC!

And I have been saying all along that his commentary AT TIMES has been spot on. (As opposed to Sherwen and Roll)

I hope the coverage starts early tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if they try and send Cancellara and a few others from the start to try and have someone to pull AS to the finish if he can drop AC. Not saying it will work, Astana won't just let them get away but it would make for some spectacle.

What a drag...

It's not a very sportive attitude. And I mean the whole trio Contador, Sanchez, Menchov.
In the other hand, Andy tried to play mind games he doesn't know how to play it. And I mean yesterday's attitude, today's attitude towards Sanchez & Menchov. He acts like they are not in the race although especially Menchov can kick his **** in the TT really well. Contador has the luxury to let them go, he won't lose time in the TT, he doesn't.
Congrats to SRAM and the Saxo mechanics (wicked Riis mode on: so you want a Luxembourger team Andy, are you? wicked Riis mode off)

Boos in the yellow jersey ceremony... I like :D

If it was me, and in the heat of the moment, I'd ask for forgiveness than permission. I'd much rather lose the race via relegation than my own cluelessness. It's not like he is sitting in an aircondioned office typing at a keyboard. There is no time to think.

Hi,

I'm Alberto Contador.

I eat babies for lunch and kick my opponents while they're down.

Thank you for listening to my story.

Bertie.

AC is saying he didn't know AS was fully stopped behind him, AS was attacking him a lot and when he saw his chance, he went on and didn't have time to realise what had really happened

which frankly is pretty plausible

I am really curious to see what Saxo Bank is going to to on the Tourmalet.I also want to hear what AC and DM have to say about this.

IMO what AS did at the moment of the mechanical was nothing, putting a 10 meter gap with less than a 1k to go to the top when AC was obstructed by traffic (they were at least ten guys with those two) is totally meaningless he was coming back. He needs to drop AC with around 10 k to go and build a 90 second gap otherwise...he is racing for second.

Was Contador at the back because he didn't want to work in the group? If so does that in your opinion change the situation?
It is IMO different to attack a rider because he is poorly positioned than when he gets a mechanical. The other a rider can affect himself while a mechanical isn't usually dependent on what the rider does.

What is wrong with some of you?

You're blaming Schleck for attacking when Contador was at the back of the group?!? NOBODY forced Contador to go there. If he was there, it was a tactical mistake and Schleck took advantage of it.

Should Cancellara not have attacked when Boonen was at the back in P-R? Seriously, people, stop with the BS defense of Contador.

Sorry, but it we are talking about fairness, then no, it isn't okay to attack at that point if you know he isn't back there because he is in trouble.

Awkward conversation in the specialized service course?

'Sooooo..... Andy, mind if I get that yellow bike?'

Being on the back was AC's mistake, so Andy attacked cleverly.
Vino countered and AC was about to close it up too.
I think AC should never lead Menchov/Samu on the way to the top. Of course there would be nothing wrong if he was only following them.
But i don't know if it is easy to choose what to do in such a small frame of time especially when fatigued
