Its hard to see someone winning the tour today but its likely that a few more will be ruled out of contention - left behind on the way up the Madeleine.

Anyone have a feed? I'm gotta work for a couple of more hours before I can go home to watch the stage.

Nice group...

Pineau, Voigt, Gautier, LL Sanchez, Moreau, Hushovd, Gutierrez.

Luis-Leon is killing this break, they won't let him go too far. Don't have any ide why he wants to kill the chances of Gutierrez and Moreau.

Lead group at a minute, already.
Lulu Sanchez for the stage win, then?
Surprised they let him go, but BMC can't catch this lot without help.

Yes, it's odd, that's for sure. 1'-15"

Voigt has no chance of a stage win against people like Lulu, so I suppose that is an indication that Schleck does want to try something.

Yeah but TBH, Lulu is not going to win the race, so why not let the yellow jersey go to Caisse d'Epargne for a few days and let them do all the work and BMC don't have to do as much work.

They need someone to tell him to GTFO of the break like Cancellara told Evans during the last TdF.

Exactly, as long as he doesn't get a 10-20 minute lead in the GC there's little danger.

Thor once again demonstrating just how hungry he is for another green jersey. He's climbing well, but I don't know if he'll be able to hang on to the Caisse train over the Colombiere and the Aravis and the Saisies, and I'm not sure it's worth him trying just to get another six points.

[edit]Garmin not looking great today. Hes-Jay is right at the back of the peloton (now off the back, actually!) and Millar just got dropped. I know he's never been an excellent climber but I swear he's even worse than usual these past two months. Maybe he's just getting old, he did a lot of riding early in the season.

Team orders or no? Who cares, love Vino.

Joined by Chavanel and Horner sent to keep an eye on him.

BMC looking better than expected.

Shack sending Brakjovic up the road now. Agree with the poster who suggested they should use him to prove that RS have a future in cycling.

Strange old start to the day. This break might not stay away too long. Not common in the Tour that a group gets to 3 minutes and then gets dragged back in the first couple of hours.
