The sad but also hilarious bit is the people who think they're the only ones trying to make things better while they are actually usually doing near nothing to actually make things better, and making for up for it by lazily advocating for radical measures that often practically end up making things worse. At the end of the day, Ineos sponsoring a cycling team is completely meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Actual progress comes from the people working to come up with better standards and regulations, from those working out the political machinations to get them enforced and even more from those who are actually on the ground messily implementing them. They're the real reason there's no more acid rain, the ozone hole is the smallest on record, and why CO2 emissions in the developed world have been going down for ages. Meanwhile, if anything, the money that Ineos shovels into their cycling team is money that isn't reinvested into making more plastic.
Anyway, back to more important matters: really excited to see how the team goes at Occitanie. Bit of a niche point really, but it will be interesting to see how one, often reluctant, mountain domestique heeds the calls of the three dueling amigos.
