Re: Team Sky Discussion thread

Well that was a disappointing way to (effectively) end the season, especially given how well they'd done in the first four monuments in 2016 (2nd, 5th, 3rd, 1st). None of Nieve, Landa, Roche or Poels rode the Vuelta and I think you could see it in their performances in such a tough race.

That's not the reason for such a spectacular fail.

2nd, 3rd, 4th, 8th and 9th of that race didn't or barely did the Vuelta.

Maybe the party after the race was more important for them,as only Kennaugh bothered to finish the race :D Can't blame them, they had a good season.

Re: Team Sky Discussion thread

It's all about to avoid chrashes, illnesses and biological-pass cases in 2017. If its the case, then they will have 4,5 new riders compared to this year. Landa, Intxausti, Kwiatkowski, 0,5 Henao, (Rosa?)

GT GC riders:

- Froome
- Landa

One week races GC riders:

- Intxausti
- Thomas
- Kennaugh
- Poels
- Kwiat
- Henao
- Froome
- Rosa?

Hilly one day riders:

- Kwiat
- Moscon
- Poels
- Henao
- Rosa?

Cobbles riders:

- Thomas
- Stannard
- Rowe
- (Kwiat)

GT Helpers:

- Poels
- Thomas
- 2x Henao
- Intxausti
- Rosa?
- Nieve
- Kwiat
- Kiri
- Kennaugh

The GT helpers and the one week stage race riders are crazy strong in my opinion.

Not impossible to win Valencia, Algarve, Ruta del Sol, Paris Nice, Pais Vasco, Giro del Trentino, Romandie and Dauphine in the spring...

Pretty sure Moscon will ride the cobbles next year especially as Sky have a good group already for the Ardennes. With a bit of luck and less illnesses and injuries there is enough talent on the roster to have a phenomenal 2017.

Kwiat's been off since 2014. Not sure he's gonna find it all again in one year

He was very good in the early part of 2015 right up until his AGR win and then has pretty much completely fallen apart ever since. He's only completed 3 stage races since that AGR win, 71st at Suisse in 2015, and then 8th (without the mountain stage) at Tirreno in 2016 and 34th in Poland. He's obviously still shown flashes of his ability in one day races but he's been massively under-performing overall.

He'll probably ride his home race Giro del Trentino in the Ardennes week.

This team still exists? The passage of time is coming

if Astana still exists after the Iglinskys and U23 team positives, SKY will have no problem.

Astana isn't winning the tour every year, maybe it will even be longer for sky then but it'll happen

you are right, not the Tour every year

Giro win and podium Vuelta 2013, Tour win and podium Giro 2014, Vuelta win and double podium Giro 2015, Giro win 2016.

please let it not be over. I don't want to spend the next 6 or seven years hearing about why Chris Froome should have one every GT especially during that mythical 2020 season when he was in super tip top never seen form because he stayed with the current best rider on a MTF. not that something like this could ever happen

Seems like Sky might have a really strong team for Ronde and Paris-Roubaix? Thomas, Stannard, Rowe, Kwiatkowski are all capable of at least a podium at Flanders and the first three are capable of that at Roubaix IMO
