Viva la difference

I think Brailsford, like everyone else, is hacked off with Sky. Their days are numbered.
He spends years building a project with all the right people to dump it? Why throw away all that work. The money in France will not be close to what he has now

He wants a change, and fancies creating a job for himself in France.
First thing, is to get a new French team, probably a national one.
Maybe French cycling have come knocking and want what he did with TeamGB/Sky and ASO have given their 'blessing'....maybe a Légion d'honneur would sit nice with his knighthood........

I read it differently.

Breaking news: Sir Bradley Wiggins attains French citizenship.

In a move slated to be knighthood suicide, Sir Bradley Wiggins confirmed his intention to move to France today.

"My time at Cofidis is a fond memory," the mod king reminisced.

"The food, the French language, the falling down in the mud while training for cyclocross..."

He looks into the distance wistfully, a small tear forming.

'Sir Dave Brailsford wants to win Tour de France with a French rider'

WTF is this? So are ASO so desperate to have a French winner they have done a deal with Brailsford!!!

This stinks. Next year is 30 years since Hinault, last French rider, won and now Brailsford is gonna produce the next winner.

Wonder what Richie Porte is thinking.....Froome is obviously not part of Sky's future and Wiggins can forget about another TdF win, he was already awarded his and it appears they are only giving one per rider. Richie Porte better apply for French citizenship pronto!!!!
O.M...F..ing...G. Have you never thought about journalism as a career? Stop, we have a genius in the ...

Ah no guys, you got it wrong.....

Did they not teach you in school that Kenya used to be a French Colony before Britain took it over?

Any day now, we are going to be told that Froome didn't come from outer space, but from FRANCE!!!:D

He probably thinks that when the proverbial hits the fan he can plead ignorance like Murdoch's fave lady did in the hacking trail.

Actually, the French cycling federation is trying to replicate the USPS/SKY system and has been working toward that goal for a few years now.

I definitely don't know how things will play out, but, my wild guess is when the 2014 Spring did not go like 2013/12, things got a little tense between Braislford and the people who hired him and now maybe he's seeking options.

He could be catering to ASO too. We now know they are directly involved in team affairs.

Interesting

He may also be doing like the rest of Sky: touting himself round all the other teams to see what he's worth

Can anyone tell me if this means Froome and Wiggins are now going to do the Vuelta? Regardless of how it works out, I expect more bizarre decisions from Sky.

I realize it's a little early, but hitting the Vuelta is the last, best hope for grand tour riders seeking justification for that next contract.

There's no way the Dawg lets Brailsford have Wiggo on the same team as him. MC will see to it. Can't have his bike being a backup for Brad's.

Cant see Wiggins doing another GT.

Watching the crash video there was one Sky guy who rides past Froome, looks at him then keeps going! (@ 2.34)

They appeared in disarray at the crash site. Nobody appeared to want to deal with the Dawg.

The decision had already made to look after Porte at the start of the day according to GT, so I guess they knew he would probably abandon at some point in the stage which probably explains it, or may be his book has p*ssed everyone off ... Walsh stitched him up like a kipper.

Yes the curse or Walsh. I hope Walsh got his fee upfront.

This sounds plausible.

The French fed are looking at this but things seem to have gone quiet recently. There's no talk of Dave B being involved though. Take it as what it was, Dave B saying what he thinks people want to hear. That's what he does best and that's what causes the people management problems in the team.
