Wallace and Gromit said:If memory serves, when he did go full bore in the ITT in Poland, he stuffed Cancellara, which would normally bring forth accusations of doping as it is "accepted" that no-one can beat Cancellara in an ITT without doping.
The World ITT will be interesting both in terms of results and Wiggo's dimensions.
BS. he had NO results. his only results were in a prologue in l'Avenir, and in 4 Days of Dunkirk.del1962 said:Wiggins pre 2009 did Ok in the time trials, not pulling up trees, but decent results never the less
In fact given the year, his 7th in the worlds in 2005 is impressive.

He was supposed to be timetrialler, but a close analysis of his record, from his days at Linda Mac, FDJ, Credit Agricole, Cofidis, and High Road, will reveal this fiction for the apocryphal tale it is. (pleonasm)
The Worlds TT. It is self-selective.del1962 said:Would you not say in 2005 that 7th in the worlds was a good result, especially if he was clean pre fuentes.
4th in Albi in 2007 TDF as well was a decent result
He was inconsistent though
Wigans. Even before the TdF, was a great rider. All pros are. He was a better than average chrono rider. I would put him 10-15 in the peleton.blackcat said:The Worlds TT. It is self-selective.
The best chrono riders, in that era, were Armstrong, Ullrich, Landis, Evans, Jose Gonzalez del Galdeano. They never rode the Worlds tt. It was for Michael Rogers to cherry pick
Bernie's eyesore said:His success last year was down to picking and choosing races where the time trial was so important, this year he would have won in Catalunya if there had been a time trial, would have been second at worst without the mechanical in Trentino and he would have been bang in contention in the Giro but for descending in the wet 'like a girl'. For you to suggest he has returned to pre 2009 levels suggests a complete lack of knowledge on your part.

l'Avenir prologue not major?Galic Ho said:11 years racing, never won a major ITT. In his 12th year, in 2012, he never lost a major ITT.
NOT NORMAL. But we ALL already know this. Old news.
Galic Ho said:DIALED BACK DOPING REGIMENT. BC's aptly described, 'pat on the shoulder from the UCI.'
Galic Ho said:There was never a mechanical in Trentino.
But there was a temper tantrum when Wiggins found out his dialed down doping wasn't going to cut it. Hence the tantrum. Hence the crap Giro form relative to 2012 and mid race departure of his OWN choosing.
DIALED BACK DOPING REGIMENT. BC's aptly described, 'pat on the shoulder from the UCI.'
blackcat said:I have said words to this effect, i may even have said they/he dialed back his D regimen.
was i the BC reference?
Bernie's eyesore said:None of that has anything whatsoever to do with the point I was making though, just you saying what you want to say to suit your own agenda (as per usual).
Galic Ho said:yes. BC = blackcat
Pat on the back was just referencing your words in some thread today. May have been this one. Was that reference concerning Wiggins? Dunno.
But I have thought for months now Wiggins was told to BACK OFF. I really think he pushed the envelope last year. Like way over the line of what is acceptable ABP wise. Hence, back it off this year.
If he has put weight back on, his GC career is OVER. I don't see anyone losing that weight again at that age. Not to go that low and so far below a natural level for that height.
He needed to man up and work for Froome in this years TdF, and pay him back for CF winning him the 2012 TdF by not attacking him.darwin553 said:Or he's got some pride and knew the writing was on the wall that Froome would wipe the floor with him come his defence of the TDF so came up with some bogus excuse about his knee.
Re supposably dodgy knee isn't gaining weight bad for his knee?

not in a pro sports individuals disposition, to give backGalic Ho said:It's not in Wiggins makeup to man up blackcat.
darwin556...Wiggins is massively underweight for his height. 8 kilos is a GOOD thing for his health. Not a bad thing. Well long term health anyway.
This reversed Wiggins might actually be tolerable.![]()
Second in Giro and winning the Tour. Seems they have done 'ok' in GTs this year. I don't think they have podiumed on all 3 in one year have they?the sceptic said:Where are the sky riders in this vuelta? Looks like marginal gains have stopped working.
