No-one, not posters here, nor Sky, have made claims for motorpaced training in any way, just that Sky were seen doing it in a Radioshack video. No emphasis has been put on it, it has not been claimed as an innovation it has not been referred to as a 'marginal gain' for Sky, just that in a video they are seen doing it.

So why is this funny?

I was LOL at the quoted 1950s date, really that simple :)

Okee, I was a little baffled how motorpacing had been added to some imaginary list of Sky's innovations, but it certainly wasn't you doing that so my apologies.

thanks! hoggie you will make a sports scientist of me...........yet

of course team sky are unlikely to show the real gains

but their team jersey is driven by function rather than being a billboard for multiple sponsors............that white back reflects sunshine

Mark L

The first year it was black, and the rider feedback about how hot it was led to that change.

Mind you I could have told them it would be an issue from the design stage...

He's taken a bit in a video and run with it, at no point have Sky claimed to invent motorpacing or even cited it as a key part of the training. In fact it was a Radioshack video, two sets of Sky riders come past them on a climb, someone here asked what they were doing and were told motorpacing and in the usual tedious inevitability Hoggo up and runs with it.

All this stuff about hand-washing, warming down and whatever else guff he and the other trolls come up with is just hot air, meaningless words that fill up the bandwidth and clog the threads, choking more meaningful discussion. Apparently that's ok though.

It is enough to get you to respond :rolleyes:

The DS of Gewiss, Bombini, a Conconi project/protege since 1985, in 1994, another marginal gains team, sad the following on their succes:

* well organized
* sophisticated rider programs
* trainingcamps
* team spirit
* Titanium bikes
* train more and more intensive

He forgot the 'washing hands, pillows, focus' etc etc BS.

SKY are having a duet with Conconi/Ferrari, the Tenerife camper guy.

Or is Kerrison the new Conconi?

Sorry, but even now at his absolute super self farah is nowhere near as good as bekele, not in the 5, not in the 10, not in cross country where bekele won the double 5 years in a row and is 11 time world champion.

Yet if he suddenly becomes in the mix with Bekele (probably greatest long distance athlete ever) and 10 clearly doping kenyans all of whome have in the last few years run under the 2002 marathon wr, you would believe that he was doing it clean.

hmmm that says it all really.

There's no reason to believe he isn't doing it clean....or at least "within the rules". Not yet anyway....though I am intrigued by the Thyroxine issue.

Someone else has figured out the power of marginal gains.

“I am one kilo less than last year and I feel stronger,” Nibali continued. “After the training camp at Tenerife, the sensations are good. I’ve been coming to Tenerife for years, but this is the longest I’ve stayed.

“We made a lot of comparisons to last year, but the data always needs to be interpreted. One thing’s sure: I am one kilo less than last year, now at 65kg, and the values are looking good,” he said. “I could ride with an average of 380 to 390 watts. I feel stronger than last year. I know I will be very competitive at the Giro.”

Losing weight and training in Tenerife. Only then can you ride on the limit of human physiology.

Now i am really looking forward to see what the skybots will say after he gets dropped by Sky riders in the giro.

Ugh you said even if he improves more you will still believe it clean (you said he will be in the mix with the best marathon runners, which would of course be a further massive improvement, I asked if you would believe it and you said yes)

That isn't the same as arguing over his current cleanliness. You are saying you have so much trust in your favorite athletes you dont just believe in their current insane improvements but even in potential further improvements to come.

Only 380-390 W @ 65 kg (5.85-6.0 W/kg)? Big deal! Brad can do 450 W @ 69 kg (6.5 W/kg).

Or so he claims...

With respect to the admin request I'm happy to take this discussion elsewhere. You are misinterpreting what I said.
I coach elite endurance runners so I'm interested in what you have to say.

Nope, but nice try.

Fingers responded by calling posters trolls and using 'meaningless words'. Well if they were that, why respond? Becuase it is obviously not meaningless.............
