You are right, my fault. 20 k interval extra for me tomorrow!roundabout said:The man, the legend, the one and only
Luca Paolini.
Luca sprints like me nowadays, he is even younger.Libertine Seguros said:Paolini was there and has classics pedigree, and finished in the top 10, so him. I don't understand the confusion![]()
Fearless Greg Lemond said:Will you endulge me telling who for Nibali was riding his balls of? Gesink? Sanchez?
trompe le monde said:As others have stated, I found it incredible that both Wiggins and Froome could do so much yeomen's work for Cav. Watching the Sky/GB 4+ hour lead out train was an experience that nestled somewhere between the surreal and the absurd.
Unlikely of U I have been a follower of cyling for thirty plus years. I know who Nibali was riding for/against. I know who Eisel and his fellow Austrian was riding for. Sky got beaten by the peloton. Nice day, simple as that. A big fat F U to brailsord and his assassins.xcleigh said:Well unlike you I'm not a mind reader, one can only presume to think what the reasons are, might be a fun game guessing though!
The whole peloton knows what the GB tactics will likely be, similar to the worlds no? Therefore to say because no-one was helping GB and they were all attacking them does not automatically follow that the reason they are doing so is through hate. Maybe they are trying to win the bloody race!![]()

Without cynism: Wiggins did one of the greatest performances I have ever seen of a cyclist.
When he fell back at 25 km I was sure he was gripping his left side because of pain, but he went at it again. Respect. (No sarcasm)

BroDeal said:It's like they are so hopped up on dope that they think they are invincible. Tactics go out the window and there is not even a thought about conserving energy.
xcleigh said:What does hopped up on dope look like out of interest? just so I know?
Dr. Maserati said:It's all easy to say in hindsight.
But we knew what GBs tactic was going to be - i would question what Germany & to a lesser extent Australia were doing.
Kudos to Italy, Spain & Belguim for making it a great race but the gap was only 1 minute for from 50k out, had another team helped earlier many would be complaining about how boring and predictable it all was.
Doping talk aside - today was a proper race, and a badas$ won it.
Alpe d'Huez said:Agree with all Darryl and Big Ring say. The lack of radios, watching Sky/GB's TTT for four hours out front was simply postal; then to see Cav with nothing in the tank, or simply beaten into submission with 10k to go because it was too damned late, and a wily old vet outsmarted them all. Great to see in a way only pro cycling can deliver.

I didn't think the power is vanishing at all. Wiggins wouldn't have won the Tour if he had been pacing the peloton fast for 200 km either.DirtyWorks said:Yeah! I wonder if the smaller team didn't limit the effectiveness of their program.
I'm wondering if the power from "The Progam" is already vanishing. It will be very interesting to see if Sky has the ITT program they've dreamed about.
FYI, NBC in the U.S. had a bit of start-line video with Team Sky meet and greet with Prince Charles AND Pat doing the intros. Yeah, there's nothing going on there.

What they did today was incredible, even if they failed in the end.
