It has to be.

Rewatching some scenes in Plan B. Van Dongen is the first one to say Jonas is their guy when the breakaway with Wout and Mvdp has put pressure on UAE to the point that the injured Roglic is dropped from the peleton.
I don't think the decision that Roglic wasn't gonna do a GC anymore when he was in the process of losing 30+ minutes was a very contentious decision

No, no. It's not what I mean. I am just looking for who is "the favorite kid of which parent".

This is just the very first clue I could remember from having watched that documentary twice, as I was a Jonas fan back then.

Van Dongen seems to have been the first one to support Jonas.

The other thing I notice is darker; Rogla in the bus saying he's still happy to be here. And someone says "when you're happy you need to smile, huh?" so Rogla smiles.

That is telling. That shows Rogla is pressured to smile, not that he always does it freely. After that Rogla continues to smile as good as he can, very shyly. Like a kid!

I've always assumed Rogla fake smiling to make himself happy when he isn't is all from himself. I never considered it a product of team PR. But seems it might be.

No need to say you're sorry. Noob visual perception difficulties isn't able to decode what that gif means :joycat:

But for background; think about a pet going to the vet. You can't fool the pet by how you act. It will notice it by the things you don't want to show or just simply feel your stress or whatever it is that makes them see it. Noob is more like a pet. Noob is gonna notice what people tries to hide. It's just the neurology of the noob brain.

My guess? The owner of a competing team with very deep pockets is going to 1) buy someone from JV that can spill the beans on their "chemistry" 2) buy at least one of their top 3.

Interesting question. If you had the wherewithall to do 1) .... would you use their info to "improve" your own team? Or shop them? If you were a cynical sports team owner and not a pathological hater of dopers.

It's already been done, with George Bennett. Hasn't helped UAE much though.

What's the worst that could happen? That he is going to win "only" by 1 minute instead of 7? No big deal.
Pogi is not going to the Giro anytime soon and even if he tries the Tour-Vuelta double next year, all evidences point at him not having many chances to perform good in 2 GTs in a row.
Of course, since this is the clinic, everything is possible with a new pancake mix from the UAE  lab kitchen.

Pogacar wasn't 100% this year. no way he cracks in the 3rd week like he did with ideal preparation.

You think anyone would have told that tryhard what they are actually using? That would be like putting a loose Cannon like Kennaugh on your top gc programm and telling him everything.
Exactly.

Riders are more than likely told to take this or do that. No questions.

There is probably a vetting process of sorts as well on who they decide to put on the good stuff. Everybody aint cut out for it. What comes with it and so on.

I am convinced after today that they let Kuss win the Vuelta so they could parade around 3 different riders with 3 different jerseys. Winning 2 GTs in the same year would have been an important achievement for Vingegaard as an individual, but they don't give a f- about that*, just like they don't care of what Roglic did for them all these years. What matters is the imagine they project as a team.

*of course, they can try it next year, now that they have their pictures for the history books.

It's a commercial endeavour, not a hobby. These craftsmen are sellers, not artists.

Or perhaps they will clean sweep the podium in all three 🤔😆
I think Roglic will not be with the team or will not race Giro. Why should he? He wants the tour.
Pogi will win TdF
Kuss won't win Vuelta because he already had his gift this year. Back to domestique duty for him .

This was a charmed year for JV. They can't possibly replicate for '24.
