I find it interesting that Cian Uijtdebroeks is not in the Giro roster this year and likely not in the Tour roster either.

Visma mentions in the press day that they have changed their racing schedule somewhat this season to create a program below the WT where their youngsters have a chance to win races at an early age. My guess is that Uijtdebroeks has been relegated to the group of young riders this year so he'll likely have a much easier racing schedule where he has a chance to perhaps win some 2.1 or 2.PS stage races rather than only riding WT one week races or GTs like last year and before.

Sensible for the long term. Last year was a rough year with a lot on his plate, so a cautious approach should better allow him to fully recover.

Just saw his spring schedule was just released though. He starts with Oman but after that it's all one week WT races with Tirreno, Romandie and Suisse so similar to the last 2 seasons other than no Giro.

Wow!! Sepp who ? Grand Tour winner, not shown or mentioned.. at all!!
Director goes over more than half dozen positive things, riders, proclaimed organization objectives, video gives rider feedback , male and female talk about personal, team outlook, short and long-term goals.
Kuss not in the mix.
Cycling News with today's feature saying not being in the public eye is best strategy for Sepp..all makes sense if bike racing was done in private,
Super disappointing that winning a major 3 week stage race, an objective for everyone and Visma and Kuss have zero momentum because of it.. Secret leadership? If his self confidence and abilities need to be kept secretly, secret weapon.. Ok we will see..

Faun-Ardeche
Faun Drome
Tour du Jura
Tour dey Doubs
Coppi e Bartali
Tour of Slovenia

These were all added to Cian Uijtdebroeks schedule. That's more in line with what I was expecting for the youngsters. I hope we'll see something similar for Jörgen Nordhagen.

I take it that the 'ø' is a hassle on a Swedish keyboard?

Has anyone so young ever been washed up before?

Not all roads are straight.

If it wasn't for that Vuelta finish then expectations probably wouldn't be so high to begin with.

He was already labeled an improved version of Remco years before that. Which was of course utterly bizarre but there you go.

I believe, he had a pinched nerve in back and a lot of problems with riding because of it. I don't know how long but probably all season. So i would give him a pass for now. They solved the problem so he should be at his best this year and doing good in less hard races could boost his confidence high.

Van Baarle again... This is more than just bad luck. He probably is missing confidence on his bike and he should reevaluate his weight. He falls and brakes a bone automatically

I believe Jumbo have a 'group of experts' who analyse every one of their riders crashes with an aim of reducing future crashes and aiding recovery.
Not sure if Van Barle is the perfect subject or just gives them nightmares.

I've always found as a rule of thumb it's best if you don't let go of the bars when falling. That helps you roll onto your back rather than *kersplat* with hand outstretched. Maybe they should duct tape these guys' hands to the drops.

Isn't that how you fracture shoulder blades instead?

I believe this is why so many break their collarbones. But yeah, maybe preferable to hands.
