i've said i believe there is matchfixing (hard to deny, isn't it), but certainly not to the extent cycle chick thinks there is. I've also said i think cycle chick is seeing ghosts, at least in this particular respect.
then I've said players will indeed throw points and games from time to time, it's a known phenomenon and has nothing to do with (the lack of) fair play or betting. At least, if we define "throwing" as simply not giving a 100% in a rally, and typically taking more risk in your shot, because you want to keep the point short as you expect to loose the game or set anyway.
all in order to save energy for a next game or set. The frequency of such throwing has gone down dramatically though, in the last years, as players simply seem to be able to have the energy to go for every single point these days. Effects of increased oxygen doping are visible there.
again though, cycle chick's speculation about throwing (and how she relates it to matchfixing) is imo rather baseless. Of course, fixed matches will show "throwing" along cycle chick's definition (i.e. deliberately missing). But then i believe, in line with hitch and others, that the number of fixed matches at slams is negligible.
In sum, Cycle Chick's attempt to explain every fart on court as an example of throwing is just as far off as the attempt to deny any throwing.
Hence my plea to take this thread back to its original purpose: that of being a reference thread for doping in tennis.

Don't be late Pedro said:Cycle Chic, what is you opinion of tennis players using robotic arms? The technology is there. And, they could easily recharge it during breaks.
I find it very suspicious when someone wears a long sleeve top. It is like they are trying to hide something. Also the use of sweatbands seems dodgy. I suspect the controls are hidden under them.

If Zebedee posts here I am sure you will all berate him also...the only poster who knows what he's talking about.

Therefore, unless I missed something, we don't actually know if the poster is female.
