What's the consensus on Farrar? How many points do you all think is reasonable to expect?

I have Farrar and I'm hoping for 1000 points. Don't know if that's reasonable though.

I have all of the 23 most picked riders so ill have a similar team to anyone

Last year i was 2nd on skibbies list of participants by how common their riders were. I think i had like 31 picks same as some other posters.

But flo didnt see any of my team. That was or.course a closely guarded secret.

Last year I believe the highest number of matches between teams was 22.. maybe a bit more possibly. I had 20 matches with you. This year there could be a couple more I think.

Knowing how all the posters on here know their cycling it is probably a good thing to have a lot of common riders and very likely a team with all the most common riders may get you a podium place or so. I wonder if anyone worked it out last year? But then again you also want to have some riders who your rivals will not have to give you that cutting edge. There is no point about getting excited about Boonen if your rival also has him.

No unique picks for me. Left out Olivier Le Gac at the last moment, he would have been one if I kept him.

Meersman and Zaugg are the least popular picked by only three players.

Also I have 9 of the 10 most popular picks. The exception being Dombarowski.

It's not bad as I initially thought.

I decided to come up with a list of my favorites for the title this year. Basically, I skimmed all teams and found the ones I think would do the best. My plan was to find 5, but in the end I couldn’t choose between these 11.

squire also has all 10 of the most popular riders but he’s also got some interesting names to follow, including Rebellin and Duarte. He hopes that Cancellara has a good season along with Farrar, Pozzato and Anton while cheap guys like Dueñas, Manfredi and Herrada can give him an edge in the game.

For the last two years I've been pack fodder, but I had my weeks of glory early last year with 1st place for some time, due to Valverde's early-season antics.

My two unique picks, Omar Fraile and Moises Dueñas are hardly game deciders, but I hope Fraile can break through with Caja Rural, while Dueñas had some promising results in his comeback last season. Both are dirt cheap.

I have faith in both Cancellara and Gilbert, so I think my most risky pick is Tyler Farrar. I have no idea how he goes this year, but I hope he can rediscover his form from 2009, the year when all sprinters were good. Another risky pick is of course the ever-unreliable Igor Anton.

And I can reveal that 2013 will be remembered as the year that the great Jesus Herrada revealed himself to the world! Consider yourselves warned

Im quite surprised that McCarthy was so unpopular, only 12 teams have him even though he was one of the best u23 riders last season and he's joining one of the best teams in developing riders. Well, thats greats news for me Expect him, i gotta count on great season for Intxausti coz most of the other top scorers in my team were very popular so not many benefits from them in the fight for overall win. And ofc my trio Cancellara+Evans+Gilbert must score over 4,5k points together at least to make me happy

Assuming the mistakes are the typos integrated into the initial main spreadsheet, I have made those corrections (or explained their effect).

Im mostly surpriced only half the participants have picked Rojas. He was one the few absolutely certain riders on my team. He cant have a more unlucky season than this and he has potential to make 4 times as many points as last season and should very easily double his points. Plus he is not too cheap making him a better pick for the overall team compared to the many good cheap picks

That's the reason I picked him. He's zero so why not. Ryo better be right about his potential and him having more talent than Quintana, otherwise I'll never listen to his picks again!

And the most popular 33 picks could all have been made within budget, with 187 points to spare. It would be interesting to keep a track on that virtual team through the season (Hugo: could a "collective wisdom team" be added in?)

Argiro Ospina is a very, very big talent. Little doubt about that!

However, give him some time to adjust to the European style of racing. He will benefit from it. I don't think he will let anyone down though!

There is always a new N. Quintana or who-ever around the corner. It may very well be A. Ospina.

Then again it might be José Tito Hernández. Or maybe Rodrigo Contreras! Those guys have an incredible leave as well.

Not a surprise at all, people just seem to check who won L'Avenir, Girobio and the Worlds and pick them.

And i'll add my team, put it together quite hastily but did manage to hit it right at 7500 points. I just looked in the spreadsheet and am quite content with the Moser pick. Last year was a breakout year for him but being promoted to leader at Cannondale i believe he can top last season and really push into the list of big names this year.
