Murcia
Cavendish
Foliforov
Expecting nothing, it's a climbers' race and I'd be shocked if Foliforov got points in his first pro race.
Almeria
Cavendish
Schumacher
Foliforov
Chevrier
Holst Enger
This is Cav's to lose, as far as I'm concerned. I'd be happy to see Holst Enger test out the sprint; on a good day he could top 5, but it's early going so who knows.
Bongo
McLay
I could see him picking up some points if Hutarovich isn't around at the end of the stage for some reason; but I'm not expecting it.
Oman
Konrad
Boasson Hagen
Goss
Rodriguez
Sagan
This is where I've got my eye. Rodriguez has to be a favourite overall; Sagan will go for stages most likely, and if EBH can repeat his 2nd overall form from a few years ago, that sure would be nice. This is Konrad's first race but on good form he could top 10 a race like this, I'm convinced, which would of course be nice because he's one of my more unique picks.
Andalucia
Vervaeke
Foliforov
Brajkovic
Schumacher
Well, it'd be nice to get a result, but there's a lot of top talent and aside from Brajko, no one's even leading their team. I'll keep my fingers crossed and keep my eyes on the two neo-pros to see how they're adjusting.
Algarve
Gesink
Porte
Well, if I only have two guys, at least it's two guys who could podium.
Laigueglia
Atapuma
Dombrowski
Moser
Mohoric
Hivert
Ledanois
Filosi
Holy crap! Lots of options. Could go alot of ways. A fast finisher who can get over bumps (Moser, Hivert) or a late break kinda guy (Mohoric, Atapuma) could do well. I'll watch and hope and likely be disappointed.
Haut Var
Gaudin
Atapuma
Chevrier
Hivert
Again, this is the kind of thing that could serve Hivert or Atapuma well if it turns out the right way.
All in all that's 23 of my 33 riders in action this week. Good to see it kicking off for real!
