Or he will lead out Coquard the rest of this season. But still a nice point haul in Gabon

Too much sentiment and not enough science in the selection, meaning 104 on the popularity table. Will be well chuffed with that as the final result. Here is the team in horribly formatted, alphabetical team order
Yes but there is also Rio, he will focus on track. I considered him despite the track focus but when the news of his illness came out I decided against him (but what do I know)skidmark said:postmanhat said:Already getting a bit dispirited about this season. The thing about Kung though, is that he missed like 3 months last year due to his Giro crash and still got 324 points. This year, his illness might just translate to being a bit behind to start the season. But if he's back full on by March and has a full season, even extrapolating for last year he'd be bound to get more points. Give him a year of development and improvement and he still could be an excellent pick. It's still early going.

I just can't believe how stupid I was. With him this week actually would have been pretty good for me, but now I had some good picks and still will loose loads of points to the other players because they all have god damn gerrans![]()

This may be his best race of season, and the rest of the season may be mediocre. I can't see him winning Amstel as Matthews is OGE's leader there, same for MSR. As for Liege, I seriously doubt he will win again, or that ether ever will be as boring a race as that again. He may win a Canadian classic, but that's about it this season. A stage or two at Catalunya maybe. He is 35, after all.
I dropped him too, I didn't believe he could shine among strong presence of mountain goats in Astana.Jancouver said:Nice ride by Lopez today. Too bad he is on Astana otherwise, he would be on my team as well![]()
Don't worry so much, there are literally tens of riders that will have great year whom many or even all of us have missed. Last year I did not have EBH (429->1068, on 94 teams) and still achieved 5th place. And 5 teams in final Top 10 missed Kump (28->534, on 34 teams). It is very difficult to make a perfect team without any weak point. And don't forget that you invested those 244 points in someone else, who will hopefully score you points at some other time of the year.Gigs_98 said:Srsly, how could I miss Gerrans? I also had Petit but eventually could not find enough place for him. But I would not call reasons for omitting him stupid. There were several very valid reasons: he did not show signs of improvement over the last few years; in 2015 he did not achieve many good results even if he did not have to ride for Bouhanni. And his new team was declaring giving full support to Coquard. Of course I knew he would likely improve his 2015 score, but there were many similarly appealing riders in this price category. So it's just yet to be seen how important pick he will eventually be, although after winning this Bongo race it is perhaps a bit more likely that he will outscore some other riders with similar cost that we have selected.Martin said:I dropped him too, I didn't believe he could shine among strong presence of mountain goats in Astana.Jancouver said:Nice ride by Lopez today. And also, I blame myself for not picking Petit, he was on my short list but I replaced him for some stupid reason![]()

Petit and Dayer were two of the riders I considered most strongly among those I left out. I refuse to be bummed by that yet, though. I don't think either will end up being a must-have pick, although both can be very good ones, especially Petit.
The one I'm currently regretting the most is Westra. I think he can be good this year, promising signs already in TDU, and a very encouraging interview with him the day after the game deadline. Had it come a day earlier, he would've been in my team. I'm a bit worried my Farrar pick. He's overdoing the whole domestique thing. Hopefully he can survive the winds in Qatar and get a good result.
