Nice 10th place for Fabbro on Green Mountain today, a very promising result. He is 13th overall now, but it could have been better if he had managed to cut his losses on stage 3. Still should be good for 30 points if he can keep his position on the final flat stage.
Gesbert was also an impressive 5th on Green Mountain and sits in 5th on GC. If he can hold that spot he will be into profit already.

Not sure what is up with Barguil. Seems to be in dreadful shape. Not good!

And Greipel doesn't do anything particularly useful either.

I think they might be the ones to lose out in the Tour wildcard race.

must remember barguil is reining KOM champ, would be big to stop him starting

No, Alaphilippe is

Yes, and Barguil really has not done much right since he won the KOM jersey. Stupid behavior left him out of the Vuelta team, stupid move saw him regress to pro conti level and he hasn't found his shape since.

Regarding Algarve, I was very happy to see Søren Kragh ride hard on the Fóia climb. Now he is 6th in the GC and he could very well do well tomorrow (though he might be hampered by today's effort and will not beat Küng, whom I also have on my team) and he looks certain to also finish 6th in the GC. He is my most expensive rare pick and like Gibbons, he is very important for me in this game.

I also got victories from both Trentin and van der Poel (though, it only gave me 4 points with him) today, so I can't complain. Even Spilak continued to look decent.

Vuelta a Andalucia
Trentin
Valls
Cattaneo
Boom
Van Staeyen

Volta ao Algarve
Aru
Spilak

Tour of Antalya
Minali

Tour du Haut Var
Felline
Intxausti
Navardauskas
Hardy

UAE Tour
Cosnefroy
Nibali
Evenepoel
Cavendish
Kittel
Zakarin

GP Slovenian Istria
Kump

Well I didn't have much of a chance to look at this week's lineups until now, which is a good thing because it's been abysmal - Ben O'Connor dropped out of Oman, and between Andalucia and Algarve my only realistic GC guy was Aru, and although finishing 80 seconds back and in the top 20 isn't a disaster it also isn't gonna get many points. So let's just ignore those races (other than to say my worry over Nizzolo has subsided) and move on to greener pastures.

Haut Var

Fabio Felline
Ramunas Navardauskas

This is the type of race I would expect Felline to do well in, but he's had a mixed bag - invisible in Mallorca, decent in Besseges, anonymous in Laigueglia. Ciccone seems to be going better for Trek, but I still think a result is possible. Navardauskas... well I recruited him more for the 'mostly flat with a TT' kind of French races, like Besseges where he sucked. So realistically, I don't expect anything, but of course I'll be hoping he turns it around any day now...

UAE Tour

Benoit Cosnefroy
Vincenzo Nibali
Phil Bauhaus
Remco Evenepoel
Daniel McLay
Bjorg Lambrecht
Mark Cavendish
Marcel Kittel
Ilnur Zakarkin
Kristoffer Halvorsen
Pavel Sivakov
Fernando Gaviria

Oh, THAT'S where all my riders went! Okay. Well, let's see... in terms of being a difference maker (ie relatively rare rider who I have somewhat realistic expectations for), my eyes are on Lambrecht. He was really consistent last year, and if he can be consistent on a higher level this year, that will be great for my team. Sivakov I'm interested to see what he does too, though he's behind both Kwiat and Moscon on the Sky pecking order, but I could still see him driving the train on the one mountain and ending up with some kind of okay position. It's Nibali's first race of the year, and sometimes he's good, sometimes not. Zakarin's a shrug emoji, and I'm waaaay more interested to see what Evenepoel can do against a top field than I am expecting him to get points.

The sprint field is intriguing. Kittel and Gaviria may be the class of the field; Bauhaus on his day can beat anyone, but is pretty inconsistent. McLay I'd say the same, but a few levels lower (ie capable of placing any given day). Halvorsen had a win in Australia so it'll be interesting to see how he holds against top talent, and of course we shall see how Cav's comeback is going.

All in all, a lot of riders and a lot of points available. Running through the list in detail, I don't expect to get as much as I might think looking over that bunch, but I am somewhat hopeful.

Sidmark, apparently my best hope for GC between Algrave and Andalucia is Neilson Powless.
It seems I am getting clusters of riders at different races, just not much in the way of points.

UAE Tour:

Alejandro Valverde
Jaime Castrrillo
Vincenzo Nibali
Victor De La Parte
Remco Evenepoel
Benhard Eisel
Kiel Reijnen

Ah, now I have some hopes on stage wins and the overall win here.

Nice. 1st and 2nd with Küng and Kragh just as hoped. And Kragh is now 3rd on GC and a 4th place overall doesn't look entirely unrealistic. Very nice first race of the season from him.

Óscar Rodríguez also surprised positively in Ruta del Sol. And Trentin is a bit of a points machine at the moment.

The one rider I was really considering and ended up leaving off my team that I'm wishing I had included is Trentin. Hope he continues to do well for those who did pick him.

You are a much nicer person than me. I wish nothing but poor form and mild illness on those I discarded in my wisdom. Have already got the voodoo dolls out for Trentin, Gibbons and Durbridge. Trentin was largely an emotional decision as he's the sort of nails rider I should like, but have decided to take against him for reasons I can't really remember

I'm daring to dream with the boy Pog. I have hopes for Oomen and Hirschi on Sunday too ... maybe they can move up a place or two. Some bonus points from Ciccone today as well. Never have I been so taken with Algarve. :)
Looks like you'll get some nice points out of Algarve!

I hope so Flo, because Oman and Andalucia have been a wash out.

Probably because I'm a fan of Trentin. :)

Man, you're doing worse than both Aru and Cavendish combined)

Only 15 points but quite a important signal for us with Kump after he won his first race of the season the GP Slovenian Istra. A huge indication that he is not done and still the teamleader, and is likely going to have a new season like 2015 after comming back to Adria.
