Van der Poel is a confirmed non-starter for Provence.

The cross season is not done yet.

I figured that was possible as it wasn't originally on his schedule and I knew there was some cross to go, but he was on both cyclingfever and procyclingstats. Ah well.

He has won all Superprestige races this season and the only one left is coming this Saturday. He wants to win that too.

A pity because he might have won Provence - not only through your squinting eyes.

Alright, what's in store for team skids on this busy week?

Murcia

uhhh.... Lars Boom?

Dammit. Go Valverde, I guess.

Well it is his home race. Plus they are preparing to have a huge tribute for him. It would be a very fitting first win of the season for him.

Yes, what I meant by that comment was that since Lars Boom wasn't gonna be picking up any points for me and I don't have a CQ rooting interest, I might as well cheer for my favourite rider even if he's not on my team this year.

Óscar Rodríguez and Matteo Trentin are both top ten in the Murcia GC. Nice to see that Rodríguez can build on his Vuelta stage last year. He seems to be a nice pick for me. Trentin as well is showing impressive form.

Not sure what is up with Barguil. Seems to be in dreadful shape. Not good!

And Greipel doesn't do anything particularly useful either.

I think they might be the ones to lose out in the Tour wildcard race.
Definitely not impressive so far. I don't know what the deal is with Greipel as I refuse to believe he's lost so much speed. I thought Barguil started out decently in Mallorca but he has been abysmal in Provence so far. He is one of my most expensive picks and one I wasn't sure of to begin with so to see him do so poorly in a race that should normally suit him perfectly is worrisome.

Greipel is 36 and stepping down a level for this season. Once you lose your edge and motivation, the decline can go fast. Not saying thats what happening, but he has nothing left to prove. If he can get a couple of wins and end on a good note that would be nice. Im sure you guys that picked him would have liked him to rack up 10 or so victories with the french calender, but I dont know if that whats gonna happen here. I might be wrong though. Early days of the season, it dont have to mean that much just yet...

This is the first encouraging week of the game so far for my team. Very nice 9th for Rodriguez at Murcia, only a handful of seconds from a podium. And Gaudu is handily placed at Provence. Would be nice If Moser can do something at Laigueglia tomorrow, to show he wasn't a completely unwise pick

Well should have gotten 1 point from Matthis at Almeria for 15th. Guess at least it's something. Only 10 more points for him to break even from last year.
1 point  15th in a 1.HC race is worth 11. Even in a 1.1 it is worth 6... So looks like he's even now.

I thought it was 1. (was looking at the wrong list.) Wait, it's 11? He's now even. Ok, I'll take that. So now he has the entire rest of the season for bonus points. Nice. Guess this weekends races are a complete disaster. Wow, so I should have two riders who have broken even in last years points already. I'll take that. :)

Actually scored a fair few points today but it was still a disappointing haul this week. Gaviria let down (again). At least Hodge got a victory. But I now have 5 riders in profit so it's not all bad. Kittlel (everyone has) did well. Best points from Gaudu, Dunbar and Ciccone.
