Yeah, Skjelmose also has a great season. Had him last year, but didn´t saw that much upward potential anymore after his 944 points last season. Excluding the tour he really delivered CQ point wise in every race he participated this year. This includes GC in smaller stage races and one day races. Hats off for this!!

With today's stage win, Roglic is back at number 1 on that one.With his win in Montreal Adam Yates is currently the rider with the biggest profit this year!!

Update #35: A tie at the top
(Apologies for being awol, I had hoped to catch up last week but had some personal stuff to deal with coming home from travel. I'll try to have everything up to date within a week with 3 updates)
The first week of the Vuelta (week ended September 3rd) saw those points take over the game, with the Maryland classic and GP Bretagne throwing in some higher-level points as well.
This Week's Top Scorers
There was a tie at the top this week, with shalgo and oliveira netting 445 each, and azazel in third only 3 points behind. Shalgo's top scorer was the opportunistic Sepp Kuss (111 points, 9 teams) who took advantage of a breakaway to outshine his two higher-profile teammates and take the red jersey. His teammate Roglic (85 points, 57 teams), fellow opportunist Lenny Martinez (81, 58) and a few riders from other races such as Lucas Hamilton (58, 13) and Mikkel Honore (46, 40) contributed to the cause. oliveira did not have Kuss or Honore, but had the above mentioned three and a good week from Kaden Groves (150, 7) and Juan Ayuso (50, 25) lead the way. azazel had a Groves-led team as well.

Another tie at the top on this ranking, with two different teams - Amis Velo (Kuss/Roglic/Martinez) and DJ Sprtsch (Skjelmose/Roglic/Martinez) split the top spot moving up 9 spots overall, with shalgo being the only team to double podium this week.

No scoring in the top 5 overall this week, as Blues in the bottle continues to sit pretty on top.

repre and Riverside gain over 40 points on Blues in the bottle, but the gap is still wide and time is running out. The real shark in the water, though, is that Blues is one of the 9 teams in the game with Kuss, and so even if other teams in the top 10 have some combo of Vuelta high achievers, it's going to be a tough hill to climb given only 5 teams are within 1000 points.
The next update will be for the week ending September 10th, including the second week of the Vuelta, the Canadian WT races, and a few others.

Add Roglic to that list in my case. No Vader either. I have Uijtdebroeks, though. I guess Asgreen's 6th place and stage win in Slovakia will have to save my week.

Now that Kuss has made it official in Spain, it's pretty much a wrap here also. 11/12 leaders after the Vuelta went on to win the competition at the end of the year and the only time it flipped there was just a hundred points between the two teams after the Vuelta. Blues should still have a buffer that's ten times that when that update comes out plus there are no Worlds to help close the gap so there's just no way back.
The only thing left to do is chase down the record for biggest winning margin ever (1266 by skidmark in 2012). Obviously congrats for such a well built team but hopefully we'll have a more competitive edition next year.

Nobody's perfect)) I have Padun and Stewart and still was second, everybody have some corpses in their team.
Even with Stewart and Padun i think biggest dissapointmen is Alaphilippe. How the mighty has fallen... Do you guys think he will be better next season? Cause i don't think so, he looks like Total Energies material
With his results in Canada he is at least 90 points into profit right now, so he isn´t CQ wise a total desaster this season. But of course everybody expected a lot more from him this season.
I also agree, that I don´t see much upward potential for next season in him. So I predict a lot less than 97 players will pick him for next season..

I've reached a point, where I'm happy whenever Higuita actually finishes a race. But with the limitations I've set for my team, I couldn't actually have picked anyone who has scored more points than him.

Out of 33 riders, you are always going to have some riders that fall ill, get injuried, get buried behind other teammates, get a racing calendar that doesn't suit them, are totally off form... I'm sure if you look at the other top teams they also have a few picks they'd like to take back. The most extreme example, is skidmark posting the best score of all time in 2012 while their most expensive pick (Modolo) didn't even break even. This is a game that rewards finding great picks more than avoiding mistakes.
@skidmark: It seems that CQ changed ANDERSEN Søren Kragh to KRAGH ANDERSEN Søren in their latest update.

Sure but they're some of my more expensive picks. Asgreen, Kragh and Alaphilippe haven't been good either and were also quite expensive.

Our current leader and champion-in-waiting is a great example of that. Their team is about as unsatisfying as everybody else's this season, but the difference is how they really hit bullseye with a few picks: Healy, Kuss and Jorgenson/Vermaerke to an extent.
To win this year, you had to choose the correct macro strategy with Roglic, then do what BitB has done with some stand-out picks.

It has been a low, low scoring year for sure. It's especially jarring after the two most prolific editions in the game back to back. The average score in 2021 was slightly above 15k and BitB might the only team to reach that total this year. 34 teams broke 15k last year, the last of which ironically was Blues'. They'll probably end up scoring a similar amount this year and go from 34th to runaway 1st. That's the kind of year it has been (but looking at all the editions of the game, the last two years are the outliers and this is more a return to the norm).

It's not looking great for us non-Roglic pickers.
I'm in 39th, and the gaps from 20th to 60th are extremely tight. Would have been a golden chance to move up into a decent spot if I had a good Vuelta, but not having Roglic is going to mean that a lot of people will move past me in the next update.
