Kind of ridiculous that there was no plan B ...must be another plane in UK with relay equipment
If you can't see a race on TV might as well not have it ...IT was the most important part of the organisation...Otherwise its just a whir of riders flying by

Never gripe again about Catalunya's coverage

Apparently the broadcasting is being done by a French company who are supplying the footage to ITV4 etc, it was its plane that had problems.

The N.Yorks Moor merit a fine spectacle.

Looking at that google maps image, this is the same finish as Stage 1 last year? If so, I can only hope we get the same racing!

The last 15-20km doesn't look all that difficult, so we must hope for suitable weather.

Possibly a little harder than last year

Last year there were no climbs after Robin hoods bay, this year there are 2 more small hills.

There was a plane crash in Yorkshire today. Seriously. Did anyone realize this?

Yellow plane, two people dead

Sad indeed, but unlikely to be relevant to the problems in broadcasting the race: the incident happened at 10:40, which would account for neither failure to show even early parts of the women's race, nor ability to show some, but only a small part of, the men's event.

From km 145 to about 180, there will be a strong headwind, so hopefully it's blown apart already by that point.

So who will win today? I'm gonna say that Gianni Moscon takes his first win here.

Don't think there's one outstanding favourite but there are plenty of potential winners so could be a good stage. Jumbo seem up for this.

Adam Yates should be strong today.
