I'm not, it's just that I'm not supremely confident that he will be in top form. Mind you Moncoutie is also a hard one to pick after pulling out of P-N early (sore knee wasn't it?).

Not sure why he pulled out of P-N.

guys can you tell me how this cycling bets work?

Join an online betting site.
Pick a winner,
for example spartacus pays $9.00 today.
you select how much you want on him. For example $100.
If he wins (100x9), you win $900.

Multibetting, you have to pick multiple races.
In today's case DVV and Catalunya stage 3.
The odds increase dramatically with two choices (in cycling anyway dues to decent odds -for the most part- available for even favorites. ) For example Spartacus @9 and Anton @30 gets odds roughly $160 per $1. Not bad. But obviously they both have to win. AC and Spartacus would get decent odds today even...

Ferminal if you jink me, I hunt you down :p

Volta a Catalunya Stage 3

Mollema over Evans @ 3.25 - LOST
Tondo over Basso @ 2.50 - LOST
Uran over Di Luca @ 2.00 - WON
Leipheimer over Horner @ 1.60 - WON

A small loss today, but my overall bet on Contador looks good. Now I just need Tondo to move past Basso for this to be a very profitable race.

Stage 4
Ruben Perez @ 101
Victor Peña over Arturo Mora @ 2.25
Cardoso over Nizzolo @ 1.50
Cardoso over Dean X Petacchi over Rojas @ 2.24

Ferminal said:
Basso @ 10
Moncoutie @ 23
Leipheimer over CVV @ 1.73 (Sportingbet)
Roche over Gerdemann @ 1.85 (Sportingbet)
Anton over Moncoutie @ 1.85 (Sportingbet)

Atapuma over Valls @ 2.75

I'm not so sure of the Anton over Moncoutie, but took it because 1.85 was much better compared to anything elsewhere. You could even guarantee a win by taking Moncoutie at 2.35.

Also:

Teams Pursuit - Australia @ 1.73 (Sportsbet)

Very happy with that, I think I'm going to stay away from the rest of Catalunya... there is very little sprinting depth so most of the H2Hs are just 50/50 guesses. As for my overalls, Uran beats Di Luca and Siutsou beats Gerdemann, Tondo is equal with Basso but behind on countback.

So it's off to the track...

Men's IP

Bobridge @ 1.91
Dennis @ 9.00

For me, Sergent is a bit too short to be worth a play.

Women's Team Sprint

Australia @ 2.00

Not quite sure on the Men's Sprint, there really are a handful of decent contenders. Need to check out the teams for the Women's TP, thinking NZ.

Only a small win today, but it made up for my losses yesterday and then some. Was really hoping for Perez when he was in the break, and my multi bet could have gone well if Petachhi had been able to stay in the race. But I guess I was due some bad luck.

Stage 5
Martin over Uran @ 2.00
Di Luca over Evans @ 2.60

I'll be going away for the weekend, so don't know how much betting (or at least forum posting) I'm able to do.

Put a few quid on Criterium International before the odds disappeared again from Bet365. Wanted to add Vino @ 17 as well, but they took it down before I got that far.

Criterium International, Overall
S.Sanchez @ 8
Coppel @ 8
Rogers @ 17

Edit: A few more...
Overall
Vinokourov @ 21

Stage 1 (Col de l'Ospedal)
Peraud over Wiggins @ 2.25
Rolland over Geniez @ 2.50

And a cheeky pound on Hutarovich to win Gent-Wevelgem @ 101 ;)

Just having as stare at CI - not sure whether to go with Fedrigo EW....?

Apologies if this has cropped up before and I've missed it, but are there actually any decent cycling betting sites out there? The overround on Betfair for MSR never dipped below 200% and other offerings weren't much better. I realise that this isn't premier league football but half the money??????

Hey guys, first time post here. So I noticed a lot of people seem to use bet365.. and last night I had such a good feeling about Fabian to win E3 prijs, I tried to register for bet365 and put my life savings on him, and then to my dismay I noticed you can't register if you live in the U.S. So where can people in the states bet? Such a bummer!
Anyways, who is gonna win Gent-Wevelgem? And is it a better idea to bet on matchups instead of outright winners? Thanks ya'll!

I don't think you'll be able to open an account with any reputable European bookie due to the US laws.

Have a look at this site and it might help you but very few bookies offer odds anyway so you're kind of restricted. (I'm pretty sure Pinnacle don't accept Americans either)

Gone with Nieve over Chris Anker at 1.8 for the overall.

Can't believe this came in! Sorensen finished about 2 minutes back on the peloton today to come in. I also had Tondo over Basso which was decided on countback - Tondo went past Basso today too! :D

Criterium International, Overall
*small overall bets* - ALL LOST

Stage 1 (Col de l'Ospedal)
Peraud over Wiggins @ 2.25 - WON
Rolland over Geniez @ 2.50 - LOST

Crit.Int. went slightly in the red, but it doesn't matter much when Catalunya was so generous.

Looking only at Catalunya, and including stage bets, it's a profit of 68,3%. Happy days!

Tondo Win 17

Didn't pay attention to any of the final stages, so pleasantly surprised that Tondo made it over Basso by getting some good placings!

If you are looking at getting on Canc for Flanders then he's 4.50 at Sportingbet (AU). As soon as he attacked to win on Saturday I jumped on it.

could you guys give me a list of betting sites?

to look around for better odds and stuff.

I find

http://www.oddschecker.com to be the best - but that's generally just for the UK bookmakers - there's possibly a similar site for European based bookmakers.

Edit - this is just a site to compare the odds of various bookmakers - you'll have to open an account with each of them individually to place your bets.

Betfair have a big book on Ronde van Vlaanderen with 68 selections but no Boonen or Cancellara! "shock emoticon"

Yes that was pretty embarrassing. Normaly they just copies the names from bet365s winnergames, but I suppose they must have missed the top 2 spots. Anyways at least betfair always is fairly quick to add riders to their winnergames if you request them by mail.
