Been doing some sporadic cycling betting earlier. Thought I could share my thoughts here, as that would possibly be of benefit to both me and others.

I've gone for this one for tomorrow

Renshaw over Boonen @ 2.10

Basing it on Renshaw being more motivated due to his chance of winning the overall. Renshaw is probably also a quicker sprinter, and if the Garmin guys are to be believed, there won't be much wind tomorrow, so Boonen's superior stamina shouldn't be a factor.

Was going to sit out today's final stage but have ended up having a few bets...

Hondo over Kluge 2.28
Galimzyanov over Boonen 2.55
Galimzyanov over Bos 1.66
Hammond over Steegmans 1.91

Was thinking of going for Chicchi for the stage at 67.0 - hasn't really shown anything but with Boonen only riding for pride maybe Chicchi fancies giving it a go!

Odds for Oman are out.

I don't bet on stages yet, as it's uncertain who goes for the sprints and who's got the form.

I've gone with one match-up for the overall.

Edit: I also put in a small, cheeky bet on Sinkewitz for the overall, as he has said he will test his form on the MTF.
Edit2: Found another good value bet. Lorenzetto over Hondo for the first stage. L. is likely to be Astana's main sprinter, while Honde could find himself working for Petacchi. Regardless of sprinter hierarchy, 2.75 would be good odds anyway, judging by results from Qatar.
Edit3: Inspired by Ferminal to also back Pinotti vs Meyer overall.

Bennati over Goss on St1 H2h @ 2 looks value.

Bennati was a very consistent performer through TOQ and will have that desert racing already in his legs.

I should have checked more sources on riders relevant to my bets than cyclingnews' provisional startlist Anyway, I think Lorenzetto at those odds is a decent pick regardless.

Chicchi 2.10 over Guardini looks good. In Qatar the peloton got shattered in pieces in a lot of stages, Guardini lost minutes on Chicchi every time. Only in the last stage everything stayed together.
I see last year in Oman their were more sprints with a big pack, less windy there?
If the whole pack stays together Chicchi will work for Boonen so then this bet could be in troubles. No one who knows how windy it is in Oman ?
