Good to hear otherwise you'd have to go out there with a broom, sweep away the snow and make a "poopy place"!

What we won't do for our dogs, right? lol! I'm glad she did eventually get used to the snow because there's still some on the ground today. Thank goodness for other wildlife in the backyard (squirrels!), otherwise I would have never convinced her to go out there.Good to hear otherwise you'd have to go out there with a broom, sweep away the snow and make a "poopy place"!
Depends on which the size of the dog, the vehicle, and number of people in the car. What we won't do for our dogs, right? lol! On a different note Tandy appears to enjoy car rides, she always wants to go with me when I leave the house. She's been very good when sitting in the backseat, but being she's such a snuggler I haven't played around with having her sit in the front passenger seat. (Don't want us to get into an accident if she were to suddenly require a tummy rub.) Where do you guys keep your dogs when driving?
If you get DNA testing for your dog law enforcement may get access to that data..and if a major crime is committed, by a 3 legged mutt, no way are we making it easier for Roubaix( Ruby) to be apprehended..A burning question for fellow canine owners - seeing as most of us appear to be the proud owners of mutts have any of you had yours DNA tested to see what breeds s/he might be?
We just ordered a DNA test from Amazon for $63 (the cheapest one!!) for Tandy... that she is partly Chihuahua is pretty clear, but the rest is kind of a delightful mystery. I think she must have some kind of Terrier in her (maybe a Rat Terrier because she likes to hunt rats and mice in the backyard), who knows?
I don't know how accurate these saliva only DNA tests are and it's supposed to take three weeks to get the results once you mail the sample in... basically I'm just doing it for *** and giggles, and I will let you know how thing turn out!![]()
I'm too cheap to spend money on that!A burning question for fellow canine owners - seeing as most of us appear to be the proud owners of mutts have any of you had yours DNA tested to see what breeds s/he might be?

Understood. Buddy is in the Punk Rock category and that's all anyone needs to know!I'm too cheap to spend money on that!![]()
Buddy claims to be a Mongolian Mastiff of the Punk Rock variety!Understood. Buddy is in the Punk Rock category and that's all anyone needs to know!
Frankly I don't have much faith in these relatively cheap DNA tests you can buy online, I mean if it turns out Tandy is half Irish Setter or English Sheepdog I'll have some serious doubts. Greyhound I'd almost buy because she runs and moves like one, but any other hairy huge breed and I'll know the test is total b.s.
I had to google the size of a Mongolian Mastiff - wow, Buddy is such a dreamer, Mongolian Mastiffs weigh about 110-132 pounds!Buddy claims to be a Mongolian Mastiff of the Punk Rock variety!
He only needs to gain 100 lbs!I had to google the size of a Mongolian Mastiff - wow, Buddy is such a dreamer, Mongolian Mastiffs weigh about 110-132 pounds!
(Imagine how much a dog that size eats and poops!🤣)
When I was a kid we had Newfoundlands. They were really amazing dogs, but that is a lot of dog...too much for me in my life now.
I had to google the Newfoundlands' weight, it said males can reach up to 180 pounds. Holy crap, that is not a dog, that is a pony or maybe an extra in a Star Wars movie. Just look at that face though, I just want to mush it!When I was a kid we had Newfoundlands. They were really amazing dogs, but that is a lot of dog...too much for me in my life now.
Our biggest male was 140-145, and most of the females were 110-120. They were hiking or swimming most days so they were lean and ripped. Most of the 160 plus ones are pretty fat. My mom was a really picky breeder so our dogs were very sound (hips, hearts, eyes, mouths, coat...). I have so many great memories of them, but pretending like I was drowning in the Priest River in April, with ice chunks floating past while training for early summer water trials is not one of them!
