Because it would get challenged in any court of law and defeated in a heartbeat.

It would be against every known human convention on the ability of a person to make a mistake get caught and convicted and pay the price (whatever that price may be) and then spend that conviction and be able to get on with their lives after paying the relevant penalty.
The reason you can do it after multiple infractions is that you can state the person has shown a propensity not to change their ways.

But you have to give people who make a mistake in life the chance to get over that and continue to earn a living.

If you make one mistake at work and get thrown out of your job but also thrown out of your industry and never allowed to earn money in your chosen profession again for making ONE mistake that would seem harsh.

No different to these guys but their job is riding a bike and their mistake is taking drugs or riding a bike with a motor in it.

totally disagree with that. How about - you know the consequences and the penalty is a life ban. A bit like drug smuggling in Thailand - if you want to stay alive, dont smuggle drugs.

They laughed at the sight of a guy winning two monuments with a motor.

I wanna see legal blocking of other riders allowed by bike or team car and I wanna see naked podium girls and have the whole thing on Sky pay per view. Its the future

as for Cancellara, I think he was using some kind of a motor. It's the most plausible explanation of what I see in that footage.
Now go ask Boogerd, Rasmussen and the makers of that television program why they think it was a motor.

The months after, the leaks were that the UCI were gonna release the names. 1 month after, then three months after, then after christmas, then in the new year. And no names ever were released, but some were leaked.

Many times civil courts have refused jurisdiction over sport rules. By many precedents civil law does not apply. in fact many doping offences are enforced even though a similar offence under civil law would apply. remember on their licence they agree to abide by the rules governing the sport and civil courts uphold those agreements. Sorry but you are missing that point.

My first question is how is this thread related to doping? we have been discussing cheating, yes but putting a motor in a bike is a technical discussion not a doping one. Could it be because the regulars of this forum can only access the Clinic?
nothing in this thread is about medical intervention that results in greater performance. It is a mechanical form of cheating and calling it bike doping is an absurd attempt to create a connection.
No one in the peloton would agree to allow any kind of mechanical cheating with their knowledge. if your heard a motor on a group ride you would announce it loud immediately. We have a thursday night MTB ride an 1 person does come with a motor we can all see. he seldom does any better than the guys without motors so no one cares. there is no bragging rights afforded either. Point is it isn't a race and we all see the motor. if he tried to hide it he would get a pump in his mechanical wheel.
