Italy seems to love that type of fastman that can win those Po Valley one-day races and in flat stages in second tier and minor WT races, but is found out in more or less any race with genuine climbing. Quaranta, Furlan, Napolitano, Guardini, Pelucchi, Mareczko, just to name a few... I mean, people would mock Kenny van Hummel's climbing for his 2009 Tour exploits, but Furlan had long missed the time cut before Kenny was gone.
