(QUOTE!)According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, more specifically the journalist specialized in the cycling market, Ciro Scognamiglio, Carlos Rodriguez will almost certainly remain at INEOS and will not leave for Movistar: "Updated information: The 22-year-old Spanish rider, 5th in the Tour de France and Spanish champion in road cycling in 2022, will probably (80%) remain at INEOS Grenadiers".(END QUOTE!)

If Rodriguez stays does this mean the end of the Remco rumors?
Uh. No.

They could totally complement each other.

And they like each other too, me thinks.

Lorenzo Fortunato to Astana

Finally a decent climber for Astana once again. Won't fill the void that MAL left on his own, but it's a start.

A few weeks ago there was talk about a meeting between Brailsford and Quickstep owner Bakala and there are some crazy rumours that Bakala already sold his shares to Ineos owner Ratcliffe and that the merger is happening.
Brailsford was at Le Tour which was unexpected as he's been pretty much 100% focused outside cycling on Ineos Sports so wouldn't surprise me. Also explains departures of primarily riders looking to become GC leaders maybe as clearly it will be a Remco, Thomas & Bernal show for the next couple of years there.

Apparently Carlos Rodriguez will stay with them, so he'll probably be the nr. 2 gc guy, unless Bernal bounces back really fast.
Potentially Rodriguez or Bernal + Landa for the Giro?

Gibbons is a nice signing for a sprint train, he climbs more like Matthews than like a typical sprinter. Finished top 30 in the TdS when Carapaz won the race without entering any breakaways or focussing on the gc and back in 2017 he won the gc in Langkawi, he was 3rd on the Cameron Highlands mtf.
Would be a really good signing for a pct team, but also good for a sprint train.

Gibbons was top class in stage 20 of the 2021 Vuelta, I remember him attacking the breakaway in the hills and them having great difficulty catching him, he was just unlucky that the race totally kicked off behind him.

Just accept that Colonel knows his stuff and is kind enough to share their information.

I can't be curious?
Did Gibbons mention it in a podcast, or something?

Quite often "It's definitely official!" turns out to be "It was mentioned in some newspaper, without actually quoting the team/rider."

Euskaltel have signed Victor de la Parte. They obviously can't sign the best Basque riders, but an experience guy who's still able to score more than 100 UCI points in a season, will be valuble in the continued fight to become a top 30 team. I'm hoping they'll soon announce Aberasturi as well.
