I think Rune still has some hidden potential that UAE wants to explore and expose. If they get the health issues under control, he will step up another level. Like @Coffeeplanter said, there is some Thomas De Gendt to be unlocked there.
I've always seen him like a mini De Gendt as well but I have to admit I lost a bit of hope this season.I think Rune still has some hidden potential that UAE wants to explore and expose. Replacement for Sjoerd Bax. And an upgrade, most likely. Herregodts is a very good rider. Definitely not out of place as a workhorse/occasional Hirschi for UAE.My point is that they should be able to get better. With all due respect to Herregodts, for UAE he will be very onedimensional, just being the first guy to ride at the front of the peloton in races probably (and not even in WT races probably). Also not good at positioning.

Occasional Hirschi as in sometimes allowed/lucky enough to be able to go for his own result. Bax also won a random 1.1 while at UAE. In general I don't understand the complaining about big teams signing workhorses. Don't really think Herregodts will fail at the job he is brought in to do.I don't agree that he's an upgrade to Sjoerd Bax. Herregodts is a descent rider, better TTer for sure (and Bax isn't too shabby at it either), but that's basically it. He hasn't made the progression people expected from him. He's to onedimensional for now. He could ofc make some steps at UAE, but he will definitely not be an "occasional Hirschi". I don't even remotely see the comparison.

In the end its almost every time about the money. I think if any other team would have offered her more money she would take the other team. That's why you go to a smaller team. How about Movistar, Human Powered Health, Ceratizit, Liv Alula etc.
One Alberto Contador
While Trek may very well have been the highest bidder, they also offer a more professional environment and contract security than some of the other possible teams (who knows how long HPH will survive?), and I think NFB might be just as concerned about that than the amount on the paycheck.
Was it about money or professional environment. AVV chose Movistar when she left Jayco, and she had no problems with money or supprort. Anyway she'll have to share the GC spoils with Realini and Markus.
NFB is on her best days a stronger climber than Markus, and she's a better rouleur than Realini, so at least they looks like easier competition than Vollering and Kopecky, and potentially Van der Breggen if she had stayed at SDW.
Ok more specifically Trek women thenOne Alberto Contador

Don't forget unreciprocated work doing leadout duty for Lorena too.NFB is on her best days a stronger climber than Markus, and she's a better rouleur than Realini, so at least they looks like easier competition than Vollering and Kopecky, and potentially Van der Breggen if she had stayed at SDW.

Relax, they'll announce VPP soon.Dries Van Gestel to SOQ. Useful addition to the gc squad🙄
A rumour in Germany that Remco could sign for Bora next week.

He seems to have folded at the first sign of adversity, after beating everyone all season. Surely there is something else going on here.
